The APC and Tripp Lite surge protectors are pretty good. I use them as well.

I don’t do measurements and I can’t tell you whether it’s the best match for the arm, etc. With the standard counterweight, you do need to twist it toward the back of the arm. If you add the aux weight, you can turn the counterweight closer to the pivot point. I don’t know which is best. I just go with the standard weight after trying the aux weight and I can’t say I heard any difference. The cartridge performs well to my ears.

Yes, it is. I have had one of these preamps ... unfortunately they're designed more specifically for mofi cartridges. With "hot" lps and a high output cartridge you can hear some distortion and after emailing with customer service, they agreed and i sent it back.
    My experience.

Is this getting a bit weird?
Finally got my Sound Organisation Shelf on the wall for the SL1200G
Then a 78rpm stylus for a spare AT3600 and playing a 1942 78 rpm release Fats Waller and his Rhythm "That Gets It , Mr Joe"
I never though 78's could sound this good!

I love my technics 1210GR for 78s! with a shure v15 (iii) cartridge and several different sized stylie. It brings out the livelyness of these old discs if that makes sense, which is good as I have 80 or 90 thousand of them.

Thank you for your comment about
not hearing any difference between using the standard weight and the aux weight. My shure v15 (iii) needs the weight to be almost rite at the back of the arm and I did wonder about this being a bad thing, I guess not! and since I seem to have misplaced the aux weight I won't be finding out any time soon, but your comment is good to hear!

Had a Tripp Lite I used in my spare room, 10 years old, suddenly failed, Tripp Lite replaced it no-questions-asked, shipped to my door in 72 hours.

Been trying to read through the 200+ pages here, lots of good info. Looking for an MC cartridge for the SL1210GAE. Phono preamp is Parasound JC3 jr.

Currently running the ATVM95 ML, but looking AT-OC9XML. I saw a few members running these and wanted to see if they were still pleased with the cartridge?

    Thanks

Oyaide BR12 about 5mm thick? Love it as its slightly concave so with AT weight the record is in good contact with the mat.

To be honest, as a person with pretty bad OCD, I'd much rather look at the turntable than a wrinkly cover.

Not trying to be mean. I just also don't understand the need for a cloth cover for a turntable that already has a cover built in.

Currently using a Hana SL with a 1210GR and JC3 Jr. It sounds great to my ears, loaded to ~420 ohms. Tracks beautifully. I tried the AT33PTG/II in this system but don’t like it as much. The AT offers a smidge more detail but I’ve had a hard time finding a loading that results in a balanced response.

I don’t use the Technics mat however, I have the 4mm-thick Herbies WEII mat, which puts the Hana slightly tail-up with the tonearm height at the zero position. One advantage of the Hana is it allows for Lofgren alignment with the standard headshell.
