The Clash Hits Back 3 LP set. I certainly didn't need it, but it was freezing in the Back Bay and I ducked into Newbury Comics to warm up. It sounds incredibly good for a remaster.
Latest LP: An autographed (in Japanese) - Sadao Watanabe -Parkers Mood...Live at Bravas Club, 1985 - Japan Pressed LP, M- cover & LP, just perfect! He was Japan's top Jazz Sax player. Had a few beers with Sadao in a Rock & Roll bar called 'Today', in Sasebo, Japan, back in '85 and just wanted to get an autographed LP from him. He just walked in and sat down next to me. I didn't even know who he was until everyone just went nuts when they saw him! LOL. Really nice guy. Been looking for a Very long time for one - many years. Kinda rare I guess. At least it was for me to find. I guess the Japanese folks who have one keep it. Only seen one other ever signed, but I'm sure there are many, of course. Mission Complete.
I just won a copy of Bee Gees Life In A Tin Can for 3 pounds on Ebay so obviously I haven't got it yet. I'll let you know how it goes.
W.A.S.P. self titled debut, Magenta Vinyl--(because that's what they sell, I don't chase color vinyl... Flat, good sound, clean and remarkably free of pops..... Always wanted it on vinyl, had a cassette back in the day, and have an old CD. Fairly casual fan.......
The Cult--Electric Bought in downtown Katy, Tx from an antique store with a nice vinyl selection in the back.
Lana Del Rey - Born to Die Bit disappointed with this one, to be honest. I'm new to LDR on the back of NFR! and Ultraviolence, both of which sound good on vinyl. This really does not. It's a fairly quiet record (no particular issue with surface noise), but just sounds very flat with very little dynamic range. Oh well.
My latest acquisition..... First pressing, NM record, NM sleeve.... £15 Tears For Fears – The Seeds Of Love Label: Fontana – 838 730-1 Format: Vinyl, LP, Album, Stereo Country: UK Released: 1989
I'm a big opera fan and have been missing going to live performances, so I've been snapping up some mint box sets on eBay, cheap. Latest haul today is below. There is something about flipping the records and enjoying the libretto and artwork that I enjoy moreso than peering at tiny print from a CD insert. Looking forward to diving in this weekend.
Dire Straits On Every Street - Chris Bellman reissue. Was so noisy out of the package I sent it back for replacement. Waiting/hopeful.
Nice little Black Sabbath package in the mail - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (German Spaceship 1973 -NM) Paranoid (Nems Picture Disc 1983 - great sound for a picture disc) Live at Last (German Nems Club version 1980 - NM)
This Generic question: do you slit the sleeve that it came and reuse it to store the lp or toss it and use a new one?
