Thats such a fantastic painting. It's just the sort of thing I like as artwork on my walls at home and it's pretty much in the vein of the sort of stuff I do as a hobbyist painter, too.

similar in style to this (there is another jazz rock/fusion album from around the same time with a similar artwork but can't remember which )

I think that's a really cool design, kind of like a mashup between the Police and "If I Could Only Remember My Name". Does the music sound like the sunset image?

  5. If you say so. (I do think the singles were really strong). Almost actively dislike the album tracks, though.

And it's hardly a brilliant album either.

Those are some cool cats. Gary should join the band.

In another thread, I opined that the pre-Buckingham/Nicks Fleetwood Mac had to possess one of the ugliest collection of album covers of any band with a major label catalog. Random pictures drawn from public domain files would have done them better.

Oddly, the Buckingham-Nicks era covers for FLEETWOOD MAC and RUMOURS were iconic. Did the label intervene under the assumption that, This might be a hit, don't blow the cover?

The Op's question was " brilliant albums, horrible covers " not about music.

They recently invented a new thing called "beside the question."

It's all subjective but it's very highly rated in general. Also don't agree with the cover being horrible - again it's all subjective but I think it's a great cover perfect for the title Colour By Numbers

I never understood why the CD version (which you posted here) got an uninspired crop of the full LP cover artwork.

    Much better, IMHO!

Without a doubt the wrongest post I've ever seen on this forum. All of the Falk-U Rogner Amon Duul II's covers are brilliant and this one is a classic.

Yes, people have very strange ideas on what constitutes a horrible cover.

[IMG] One of my favorite albums of all time but, sheesh, that album cover looks like an elementary school girl's folder bought at a dollar clearance store.

I don't want to go through all the pages, but if I didn't write Raw Power,
it's definitely the greatest album I can think of with the worst cover.

I think this album is brilliant, but I can't stand the cover

AWFUL cover. (Sticky Fingers' cover is even worse, so there's two great albums with abysmal covers)

  25. Come to think of it (and given the title) I'd agree that the cover itself isn't so bad. It's intensely colourful, that's for sure.
