Every time we know records are coming and before official announcements we always speculate converse and debate what may or may be on them It’s nothing new. It’s a tradition and it is constant and across the board.
Now that is just lunacy...…..seriously folks, get the box and enjoy it! I really hope someone did not make a comment like that
Paul, your opinions are always welcome. I appreciate the dialogue all over the Beatles/Solo Beatles threads that you participate in...… But also, I feel strongly that some of these threads are better off with some of the people who have walked away from the SHF for good....whatever the reasoning is! As the old saying goes..."don't go away mad, just go away"!
Good quality Blu-ray players are "on the cheap now". 4K Disc players are a little more costly but worth it in my opinion!
Interesting, just weeks after the release of Abbey Road and also just after the famous Sept 1969 Beatles meeting tape that made news the last 2 years.
They did indeed. I read it too. I think some are just trolling, but who knows? People say some ridiculous things at times.
Right. To use that logic, we’d have to wait until a track list is released before saying anything at all
Not sure why you’re getting bent out of shape whether someone decides to buy / not buy this set based on its actual content. For me, if the Yoko material we’ve been discussing is in fact included I’ll be pre-ordering. If it isn’t, I kinda doubt I’ll buy this set unless it’s offered for a ridiculously low price during a Black Friday sale. Not sure why this would bother anyone.
yes, the question was about sessions with Yoko, that's why I made the update with the sessions with her we will get.
I only wish it was more common practice here that discussion of the actual releases of such materials, post-release, typically endeavored to equal or surpass the amount of pre-release speculation of a said release? It's kind of hit and miss in that regard, imo. I don't know it just seems to be the case a lot, maybe I'm mistaken? I've seen with the legacy artists as soon as the release isn't a day 'old' the next round of intensive speculation begins. Just a thought. It keeps the wheels in motion I guess. All good.
Absolutely true, that's the way it goes. Lots of excited posts about a forthcoming release, lots of excited/frustrated posts about release date and shipping, a few scattered posts about actual content or sound quality, and there immediately begins "any news on the next..?" It's not the kill - it's the thrill of the chase. And it's possibly an illness.
That “what’s next??” speculation sometimes even happens before the first release is out. Like there was a blurb with information about a Who box set — not a track list, just information leaked of what to expect — then discussion moved on to what the box set after that will or will not likely include. It’s how it goes around here.
We're never satisfied. Always focusing what we don't/can't have. There must be a name for that condition.
Probably coincidental (as these episodes seem to have a lot of planning and work in them), but there is a wonderful new special episode of Producing the Beatles which deals with the making of "Love", just a little while after we got the sneak peek (hear) of "Love" in it`s various forms from the new box set. Forgive me if this has been posted already: EDIT: Also I don`t think it uses any of the new audio but what has been "out there" before: 012 John Lennon, "Love" (S1 bonus episode) — Producing The Beatles : The Podcast
I don't know what you're ralking about. I don't even know who you are. You and I, we're perfect strangers.
