44 inch Chest is a sort of follow up with John Hurt playing the Kingsley part. McShane is his usual brilliant self, but .. Ray Winstone delivers an incredible performance.

He was very good in Nick Cave's film, The Proposition.

He was also good in The War Zone, but I felt he was miscast. The book was much better than the film.

Nick Cave wrote the screenplay/ music ( and very good it is).

I don’t think he added much to The Departed.
Apparently him and Nicholson didn’t hit it of.

I didn't see The Departed. I have a problem with any film with Matt Damon in it. I know it's probably an excellent film otherwise, from everything I've heard and read about it, but I just won't subject myself to any more films with Damon in them.

McShane even mentions The Beatles in 44 inch Chest ( kinky part).

Tracker's good and the cockney Beowulf's not bad at all if a) you can tolerate Jolie's heels and b) Ray's accent.

Is that the movie with the puppet sex?

[Just so this post won't be COMPLETELY off-topic, I'll say that my favorite Winstone film is Quadrophenia, but not because of him.]

I don't suppose any of them were happy with being in the Film Actors Guild.

"Scum" was mentioned earlier, and Ray is terrific in both versions: the one made for the BBC (which they banned) and in the feature production a couple of years later.
    Very rough kitchen-sink dramas both.

Really love him in Ladies And Gentlemen, The Fabulous Stains. He held his own as a punk singer playing with legends of the genre.

He is almost unrecognizable in his younger roles. That said, good-looking dude at any age.

    Proposition?
Ray Winstone, very understated role for a change. John Hurt’s got a small part in it playing a bounty hunter.
