I'm going to listen to the Tannoy Kensington GR, Tannoy Canterbury GR and Harbeth 40.3 at my dealer's house. Another place will have the Focal Sopra 3. Good times. Something tells me the big 15 inch dual concentric driven by my Boulder will have the dynamics and resolution I crave. God help me if that don't do full range with slam in my smallish room.

Sonus faber olympica would be MY first choice. Used Kef blades wouldnt be terrible. If you found an incredible deal, the vandersteen 5a carbon would be fun to own. If I had the space I would own avante garde duo (which you could find used within budget)

I am also searching for speakers in this price range (maybe a bit higher) and I am also considering Focals Sopra 3. but also Magico A3 which on the down size is wery hard 2 drive. Audiovector R6 series is on top of my list though.

Definitely try to audition a set of Spendor D9.2 towers. They have the speed and dynamics of a HE / pro speaker yet the refinement, imaging and deep bass of a traditional ported tower. About that port- it is down firing transmission line style and will deliver room shaking bass into sub bass range. A truly special speaker that does it all.

I'm trying to stretch my budget to get the Tannoy Canterbury GR. I need that big 15 inch driver!!! :help: I realize that the Arden also has a 15 inch driver, but I really want to stick to the Prestige lineup.

So it's looking like I will go with the Westminster. There's one pair sitting in customs right now apparently. My dealer offered me a terrific deal including delivery, unpacking and setup/tuning.

We just have to measure to be sure the movers can get these into my basement.

After measuring and measuring and measuring, my dealer confirmed that his movers can get these into my room. The order has been placed! I got the very last pair of new ones available in the USA. He says 4-6 months until there will be more available. Start saving fellas!

Well shazam!! My dealer spent two hours here today taking detailed measurements and making a plan for how to get these into my basement and how to set them up. I'm told my Westminsters will be in customs for a while and to plan on five weeks for delivery. In the meantime, my dealer is having a brand new set of Ardens delivered and setup here, sometime this week. I guess he plans to use these for demos and wants me to break them in.

Just one question. What should I play first?

I hope you love your Tannoy's, I know I will never get rid of mine! I have a much smaller room than you, I can't begin to imagine getting those Westminster's in my house, ha ha! Enjoy and update us when you get them.
