True, but the picture shows 2 LPs. Edit: it showed 2 LPs in the afternoon, but now reverted to the usual single LP. Weird.
Haha you beat me to it! I was wondering myself if I was imagining things, but I guess I wasn't alone in that delusion
This was the image on the email: Pink Floyd The Dark Side Of The Moon Limited Edition Gatefold Vinyl Limited Edition Reissue, Final 40 Copies Available Now I saw this 30 minutes after I got the email, it was already gone.
Looks like some customers are going to be unpleasantly surprised. Or perhaps there are actually two copies included. One to play occasionally and one to play while watching The Wizard of Oz.
Maybe, but I doubt that TSOV would go into that trouble. Furthermore, it's not like TDSOTM ever needed any additional marketing to sell like hot cakes. It's probably still in the Top 20 of the UK vinyl chart as we speak. I'd say it was either a rookie mistake by someone along the way, or there's something more to this than what we know. I doubt it would be anything very significant like an AAA 45rpm pressing, but maybe a double LP with etchings on sides 2 and 4 was considered at some point. We may never know.
7 back in stock right now. I do often get marketing from SOV declaring only so many left and when it's gone it's gone etc. When you Google the product code it just links to the 2016 version at other vendors so I'd be careful.
I don't think that DSOTM is "splittable" on four sides, the tracks on A-sdie and B-side are all connected...
They could fade On The Run and start Time with the clocks at a dead start. Side B is trickier. Obviously the flip would happen after Us...it would sound odd having Any Colour fade in.
Not that this would ever happen (or would it ??). Side One - full side one of TDSOTM @ 33 1/3 RPM Side Two - an "etching" of ... Side Three - full side two of TDSOTM @ 33 1/3 RPM Side Four - an "etching" of ...
I wonder if this is a new reissue with the whole album cut to one side and a triangle etching on the back?
Maybe they're including the drier, more organic sounding early Alan Parsons mix for the first time on vinyl. Id pick that up in a heartbeat...
Thats what I was referring to, yes. But there is NO/ZERO indication that this supposed double DSOTM contains that.
Well... if they'll make a "hologram" etched vinyl like the Star Wars one, with a rotating prism or something... I'll probably buy it!
