I tried that too. Sometimes it works, but sometimes it doesn't. The last time I checked the gift option, my record was still delivered in a plastic baggie. I guess the only other option would be to order some other stuff in the same order with the record, so that it might come in a box?

Ooof!!! Well it was worth a try. :)

I've tried your second option once with a book and a record. It didn't turn out well. The record lost.

My Amazon LP was in a thin box but wrapped in a white plastic bag.

Ive been ordering my fair share of records from Amazon recently and Ive received records in plastic bags, padded paper envelopes, one just put in an oversized box with no padding and one in a record box inside another box. Most have been either plastic bags or padded paper bags. Getting vinyl in boxes seems to be the exception now, not the rule.

All I'm getting when trying to go thru with the purchase is, "Sorry, this item is no longer available from this seller, try another seller.. ". Kind of an odd statement since the seller is Amazon and it's not available until April 15th.

Some interesting stuff. I've not heard of most of these. The Leni Stern is a bit mellow for my taste, but there is some nice bass and keyboard work on that first song. Wow! That Tendrils is seriously experimental! Something exactly in the middle would be just right :)

Thanks for all the posts mate!

She is the wife of Mike Stern who was Miles Davis' guitarist when he re-emerged in the early 80s.

    WOW! Just WOW!!! :D

    Diggit!

When I saw the excellent Miles Docudrama recently, there was a scene where they were playing this kind of awesome Progressive stuff at some venue, and I particularly noticed the excellent guitarist. I have a TON of later Miles, but I couldn't find in the credits or anywhere else in the film what the bloody song / album was. This just might be it :)

Thanks kindly my friend. I owe you! :tiphat:

    ***EDIT

Okay, the Miles album shagged! :D

Just scored a new, what looks like a MOV pressing of the album for $30 from Amazon. And here I thought I had all the good Miles... Thanks again Bro! [IMG]

Apologies for the deals diversion, but in response to the above, you should check out:

We Want Miles: Miles Davis - We Want Miles (the original 2 LP was released on a single CD in Europe, but later re-releases expanded it to 2 CDs)

Miles! Miles! Miles!: Miles Davis – Miles! Miles! Miles! Live In Japan '81 (1992, CD) (Japan-only release of the show that was partly used for We Want Miles. Long OOP, I believe, but I have always enjoyed the rawness of this compared to We Want Miles, which is still essential.)

Miles At Montreux: Miles Davis - The Complete Miles Davis At Montreux 1973-1991 (A massive set, but well worth it if you like later period Miles. The mid-80s stuff (with John Scofield replacing Stern on guitar) should certainly appeal if you like the above YT clip.)

I assume you already know/have The Man With The Horn and Star People?

    Now back to deals....

Yes I do, thank you! :) I'm looking forward to the MOV 2-LP!

Here is the Amazon link since this is the Deals page:

    https://www.amazon.com/We-Want-Miles-Davis/dp/B004LNX2B6/ $30.03 Shipped PRIME

I could also get a Mint 1st US pressing from Discogs for about the same price, but so far I've always been quite happy with the MOV pressings.

Still some really good albums on vinyl that are dirt cheap right now. They were all new to me, but I really enjoyed each:

Vita and the Woolf - Anna Ohio (pink vinyl): $4.90
    https://www.amazon.com/Anna-Ohio-Vita-Woolf/dp/B084Z13P9R/
Earlier I submitted that this is for fans of St. Vincent or Quadron, but I'd like to revise that for Florence & The Machine and Polica. I tried to buy a half dozen copies for friends but Amazon only let me buy two.

Girl Friday - Androgynous Mary (color vinyl): $4.91
    https://www.amazon.com/Androgynous-Mary-Girl-Friday/dp/B088VRW2SK/
For fans of Bangles, Warpaint, etc.

PCM - Attraverso (color vinyl): $4.99
    https://www.amazon.com/Attraverso-COLOR-VINYL-PCM/dp/B07TLPBC1Q/
For fans of: Eno, Aphex Twin, Robot Koch

Jay Jayle - Prisyn (vinyl): $4.92
    https://www.amazon.com/Prisyn-Jaye-Jayle/dp/B08BDSDTVZ/
For fans of: Nick Cave, NIN, Wovenhand

Alex Izenberg - Caravan Chateau (vinyl): $4.73
    https://www.amazon.com/Caravan-Château-Alex-Izenberg/dp/B088T19NT8/
For fans of: later Harry Nilsson, Lemon Twigs

Which is a shame, because it's a really great record. I'll stick with the free CD that I got with the purchase of Mike & Micky Show concert tickets (a show which still has not happened...but hopefully will one day).
