About that Luna deal... thanks @latheofheaven If you like Velvet Underground you really need to check out Luna (they opened for VU on their 1993 reunion tour). This is a great deal at half the price I paid for this when it came out recently. My copy was flat and sounded great (and yes, Amazon delivered it in the scary white plastic bag they now use sometimes).
I don't know man I went and sampled a little bit of the first song and I don't hear anything like the Velvet underground in this
Good to know, thanks Bro! Don't mind @aoxomoxoa He leads a sad, sheltered life in Ohio... ***EDIT A couple of the songs, especially the title song do sound somewhat dreamy with the laid back vocals similar to VU, but some of the others are more 'Poppy'
Eels, "Earth to Dora" (2020) - $13.69 (7 in stock) https://smile.amazon.com/Earth-Dora-Eels/dp/B08J55MRS6
The Nat Pierce-Dick Collins Nonet / The Charlie Mariano Sextet - $6.99 https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B001REZMHO This is allegedly OJC Vinyl - I've ordered it and will let you know. From listening on YouTube, it seems to be more traditional (pre-bebop) jazz. Allmusic review: The Nat Pierce-Dick Collins Nonet - Nat Pierce | Songs, Reviews, Credits | AllMusic

I do like the Eels and I have some of their stuff. TBH, in my lowly and wretched opinion, if you want a MUCH better version of this album, more interesting, less boring, more atmospheric and layered, and just with what I feel are damn better songs, get @aoxomoxoa 's album that he and The Great Serpent Mound of Ohio just released. He has posted it here in the vinyl sales section. Same idea, but for me, done about a MILLION times better! But, also a very kind thanks to the poster above too
Thanks! Ordered this. I love west coast jazz and Charlie Mariano is one of my favorite west coast jazz sax players.
Not sure if this is the best place to ask or not, but does anyone know what it symbolizes when there is an Amazon “a” and logo in the bottom right of a cd listing in their app? Wondering if this means it’s one of their manufactured on demand discs or something else?
I think it’s more that he sings in the style of Lou Reed (well, when Lou would ‘sing.’) BTW thanks on this. I’ve had the Best of Luna CD in and out of the car for the past half decade so looking forward to hearing them in vinyl even though it’s not gonna get here for a couple of weeks (it said in stock April 12.)
Yep, and also the fact that prior to Luna, he was in Galaxie 500–now if you can’t hear the VU influence there, I don’t know what else to tell you.
I had trouble ordering this the other day on Amazon...it worked OK today... Many Thanks to the OP for this info...
I couldn't resist at that price. Thanks for the tip!! I see that at this time (9:15 pm EST 3/29/2021) it is up to $51.38.
I can't find a good deal out there. I have 3,000+ price watches loaded at Camelx3 and today, for the first time in months, not a single alert. Let's hope it's the calm-before-the-storm. Or, better yet for the 'big picture', maybe people are buying records again without the deeply discounted prices we've seen in the last year. ========================== Edited to add: I had a discouraging exchange with a third-party Amazon seller yesterday. He had advertised a $25 LP for $3.99. I checked his feedback and saw he had received several negative reviews in recent weeks for cancelled orders. Rather than buy-it-and-wait-for-a-cancel, as I usually do, I reached out to him ahead of time and asked about the price. Sure enough, the price was bad and he quickly removed his listing. Then, rather than thank me, he explained that his price was a mis-price as I expected. The reason he gave was that he uses a "complex" algorithm to price his inventory, and if another seller makes a pricing mistake then that will create a mistake in HIS item's pricing too. He went on to say that I really shouldn't complain to him (I hadn't complained, but I guess he expected me to do that.) If I had a "beef" with anyone, it should be with the other guy who made the original mistake. (Naturally, I saw no "other guy" and have no idea if there really was one.) End-of-rant.
Never ask, just buy from Amazon. Their buyer protection policy has you fully covered if it's not shipped, or if they ship the wrong thing. And the A-wad who said it was the other seller's fault is a good seller to blacklist.
@MekkaGodzilla was making a joke based on a lyric on the "New York" album ("somewhere, a landlord is laughing...").
