Posted in the wrong thread. I actually highly recommend Changing Lanes if just for the support cast. Toni Collette, William Hurt and Sydney Pollock all deserved Oscar nominations

Billy Madison. I actually love The Waterboy and Happy Gilmore but that's about all of Adam Sandler I can take.

The Hobbit, walked out and left my wife to watch the rest. Such a bore.

Black Swan, it may have been closer to half an hour, but it was not a film I wished to spend any more time viewing.

    *** Spoilers ***

The plot was so monumentally stupid. Why would he not hire a lawyer and make a deal in writing with the District Attorney? I guess it would be a very short movie!

It's indeed a silly movie, but at least it's fairly entertaining! :)

A "comic book movie for folks who hate comic book movies".
Hit the spot for me, since I dwell neither in the Marvel matrix
nor the D.C. dungeon (but did work in 1970s commercial radio).

Miserable, predictable film with some REALLY great performances in it. Glad I saw it through, but would probably not revisit it.
Robin's brief but brilliant appearance in "Shakes The Clown" steals the show.

EVERY time I was called for jury duty in Baltimore they played "Hitch" and "The Blind Side" over and over in the waiting
area...sometimes for seven hours at a stretch.

(actually fell asleep in the theatre...when I woke up near the end my wife and our friends sitting next to us were also asleep and snoring loudly).

All of these films were recommended by friends and acquaintances.

I couldn't stand the first scene, with Chris Pratt dancing around. But I'm glad I stuck with it. Fun movie.

King Kong vs Godzilla, less then 5 minutes...turned off right after that intro scene with King Kong showering and wiggling his behind.
I thought it was some sort of comercial at first!

If you fit the typical SHF profile in terms of age and interest in 70s classic rock, then Almost Famous should have been right in your wheelhouse.

Avengers: Infinity War. Just jump right in without telling the audience what the hell is going on, actors constantly winking at the camera with all the lame "humor". Hit pause and told the wife and daughter I'm going upstairs to read or something, and they can finish it without me.

Not even on my boat. I used to read Rolling Stone Magazine in the '70s just for the record reviews, and
rushed out to buy anything that they panned that sounded interesting to me. Discovered a lot of really
cool music that way. Thanks Jann!

Well, the film isn't about Rolling Stone. It's about a precious, teenaged writer, a rising band and their hangers-on, the web of relationships between all of them, and the love of the music which binds them together. It's Kate Hudson's best (only good?) film.

I've developed a habit with Sofia Coppola movies, I watch them for two minutes and I give up. They're inert, I'm thoroughly unstimulated. I've given Lost In Translation a couple of stabs and it aint gonna happen tho everyone says it's good.

Despite coming of age in the 70s it always seemed like there was something about Almost Famous that wasn't speaking to me. When it played on TCM a week ago I relaxed and sat through the whole thing and by golly if it wasn't as good as everyone said.

Saving Private Ryan, I wish I had that 15 minutes of my life back. Too damned much violence.
