well golly! loved that show...and especially loved Gomer on The Andy Griffith Show...he was killer funny!
While I like the "Gomer Pyle, USMC" series quite a bit, in a way wish they had kept him on "The Andy Griffith Show" longer-He was a great addition to the cast of Andy's show... Goober was okay as a substitute, but Gomer was a better character overall.
I enjoyed that series immensely. But for me Jeremy Brett is the best Holmes. Just watched season one (1984), haven't seen it in years. It's wonderful.
Dead To Me - Season 2 Episode 3 I was excited after episode 1, thinking oh, as good as Season 1 & now, I don't know...a little more tedious & dark-skewed. By this episode, dragging a little & getting too dark. First season there was more comedy involved in the dramedy. I mean, don't get me wrong, it was dark, but there were sharper witticisms, I felt. Perhaps, b/c in the first season, the main characters were engaging with other characters more in varying sets of circumstances - not so very much so far in episode 2. Thinking 1 was a little more well-rounded & fleshed out than this is, at least so far...
Law & Order -Organized Crime Second episode of this new L&O series. The pace and plotting of this new show hooks you right in , the scene of Wheatley at the table parrying with his dad's old mob pals was the highlight. But Eliot is being taken down a road that seems overly ...ah....operatic, even maudlin - not the usual tight writing style and character portrayals you usually expect from the Wolf franchise. I still have reservations about this series , but guess I' m hooked in enough to keep watching ...for now. The Wallflowers on Jimmy Kimmel Jakob Dylan, with his band, performed Roots and Wings, a song with mesmerizing lyrics and narrative . The style of his music is more 'classic rock' than Bob's, but Jakob certainly has his dad's gift for poetic, engaging , challenging and original lyrics. Strong stuff ! Glad I tuned in.
Mr. Mercedes (season 2) Because there was no possible way to really have a season 2 this is basically the same characters as season 1 behaving in ways they never would have acted in that season. If you've seen the cult Australian 70's film Patrick you know exactly what's going to happen but if you told anyone at the end of season 1 to watch Patrick they'd think you were crazy. Despite this crazy scenario it's still worth the effort. Look for the really bad mistake at the start of episode 2.
Mr. Mercedes (The rest of season two) Just when it was getting really bleak the last episode airs and it completely blows me away.
