I doubt that will ever happen unless they hire someone to take care of all the regular releases.

Agreed, and the atrocious sound doesn't help matters, either. Night and day in every way from the Vol. 1 vinyl.

You know, there was a lot of discussion of what could be the next JGB vinyl package, and they could do a lot worse that staying in order with Vol.3, although the length would probably require five records, making it cost prohibitive.

I'd sign for that as well. The JGB I enjoy most are the bands where there were no b/g vocals - Merle, Nicky, and Ozzie. Although I do love what Gloria and Jackie brought to the final iteration.

Listening to I Shall Be Released, Sept. 16, '89, Jerry Garcia Band.

Great version. Cool organ solo, pushing Jerry, who fires off some flame-throwing solo runs.

I own Old And In The Way and Jerry Garcia-David Grisman Not For Kids Only on compact disc. Both are pretty good releases.

I also own Ace by Bob Weir on CD, and a late 80s repress of Heaven Help The Fool on vinyl, but that's a little off topic...

It’s a big run, 7,500. Any amount of reasonable effort should get a copy at retail. It’s the stuff that’s under 2,000 and in high demand that gets flipped for big money.

Psyched for this. Based on prior experience, it should be possible to pick up for at least the first week after release.

Considering there’s not much on the list this year I’m after I will pay to get this from the US

True. If this was 1500 it would be insane.

I think Eel river was 2,000 and that was a good bit of effort to get on RSD, 7,500 just means making an effort to go to a record store at some Point that weekend. I think the Tom petty thing is 12,000, most stuff isn’t going to be hard to get. I’d say an effort is being made to spread things out and not have big lines.

7,500 seems like a good amount to press. The GD release is getting 6,700 in comparison but I have seen its stated at 10,000 too.

Agree I wish they could have just done a normal release for this one. Flippers are going to be snatching this one up and posting it for $300 on discogs right away.

Even with 7,500 this will be snatched up first thing. No way will it be normal price for a week

The good thing is the Jerry Garcia camp has done represses if needed like Eel and Acoustic

The Garcia Band release is an RSD first, which means it have a general release later.

The GD '72 is RSD exclusive.
