In response to the news that RFD-TV will bring back Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom and since there have been many of these series on network TV over the years. Some of the classics aside from Wild Kingdom include The Wild, Wild World of Animals, Marty Stouffer's Wild America (which does get rerun on many low budget TV stations), Lorne Greene's New Wilderness, The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau, the PBS series Nova, the PBS series Nature, the various shows with Jack Hanna, among others.

What are your favorites of these sorts of TV series?
To me, Wild Kingdom is #1 of the overall series and for specifically underwater adventure shows, Jacques Cousteau is #1.

Wild Kingdom; Wild, Wild World of Animals; and New Wilderness were all must-see tv for me when I was a kid. As a side note and somewhat nature related, so were In Search Of with Leonard Nimoy, and the Wonderful World of Disney - especially when they would air 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea! :)

Jacques Cousteau's shows are also classic.

I used to like Jack Hanna's Animal Adventures when I was a kid and would watch it all the time.

I have seen Wild America get syndicated to low budget TV stations such as KOOL TV (which can be streamed and also added on a Roku and Amazon Fire device or Smart TVs that use the Roku and Amazon Fire interfaces. If your device has screen casting features you can cast this channel as well from a computer) through Telco Productions.

Now you know that if you have an OTA TV station that syndicates their program from Telco Productions in your area (many of the stations are low budget stations or diginets), you are likely to get Wild America on your TV.

I have Xfinity and not OTA. However, the Maine CBS station that we get when I'm on vacation is OTA and it still shows Wild America.

In fact, every program syndicated by Telco Productions is on that channel.

There is a 24/7 streaming channel of Jack Hanna and some of his shows have been distributed as E/I

can't beat Marlin Perkins and Jacques Cousteau. the best recent day wildlife specials are anything created by Dereck and Beverly Joubert's Nat Geo films from Africa

I managed to score the complete DVD boxed sets of the Marty Stouffer Wild America TV series and the Wild America TV Specials for $10 each at my local Goodwill. I have seen eBay sales of just one of these sets alone for $30+ each
