Today is the 20th anniversary of Joey Ramone's death, so I will mention that I did see him in concert. RIP Joey.
Thankfully got to see Bowie, first and only time on one of his last tours in 2004. Chris Cornell, solo and with Soundgarden.
Aretha Franklin James Brown Laura Nyro Ray Charles Brian Jones (with The Rolling Stones) Divine Merle Haggard (at his house outside of Bakersfield) He played songs on his guitar with a relative I was friends with.

I saw Leonard Cohen several times. He was supposed to be "doom and gloom," but he had terrific rapport with his audience. As did Harry Chapin. I saw the original Tyrannosaurus Rex in early 1969, as part of a double-header - both Marc Bolan and Steve Took have now gone. The other half was Fairport Convention, with the late Sandy Denny. As I've mentioned in another thread, I saw Tim Hardin about four years before he died - clearly unwell, and a big disappointment. I've seen two versions of the Mamas and Papas - one with the original Papas (John Phillips and Denny Doherty - now no longer with us) and one with no original members but including Scott McKenzie, who has also passed away. Also on that bill was the late Peter Sarstedt. I saw Jet Harris twice, topping the bill at my "local" - Fairfield Halls, Croydon. And many years earlier I was at a Cliff Richard concert, and Cliff called on Jet and original Shadows' drummer Tony Meehan to join him on his first hit, Move It. Tony Meehan has also gone. The first concert I ever attended was one of those with loads of acts - including Billy Fury and Shane Fenton. I saw The Strawbs a few times, with Tony Hooper.
