    ' Voodoo Lounge '

It just is. Despite a just alright hit single , this is the Stones at their lifeless worst.
Many may say ' Dirty Work 'is the group's nadir but I can play that album with some degree of enjoyment.
Not the case with ' Voodoo Lounge '. It's almost annoying to listen to it.

Crappy album cover too but the Stones are no strangers to those....

This kind of topic invites arguments.
One man's "Satanic Majesties" is another man's "Dirty Work".
    Or something like that.

"Got Live If You Want It" cause the live tracks are sloppy and so poorly recorded they sound worse than plenty of bootlegs and I believe they are rounded out by studio tracks made to sound worse by overdubbing screaming girls.

Just going only by their 60's-70's stuff, I think a case could be made for either Goats Head Soup or It's Only Rock & Roll.

What a happy thread that is sure to get locked.

I don't know what the correct answer is but it is not Voodoo Lounge.

Voodoo Lounge because of that car song.

Nah it's fun and some great performances by the band on almost every track.

"Thru and Thru" alone is worth the price.

Voodoo Lounge is a better album than Some Girls. There, I said it.

Worst would be either Emotional Rescue or Bridges To Babylon.

Never heard of a Stones album called Flatline ( _______________ ). Must only be a bootleg.

I'm not going to say it's "the worst," and I realize this will be a controversial statement, but I think Some Girls is tedious and boring. Yes, there are a couple of great tracks, especially the well known singles, but overall I think "lesser" praised albums like Black and Blue or Emotional Rescue are a much smoother, more focused listen. Sometimes the "throw everything at the wall" approach works (Exile for example), but with Some Girls it's just a messy overload.

@Rfreeman let's not bring live albums into this. That's too easy.
Stones worst studio album by decade
60's - Out of Our Heads (Brit Version)
70's - Black and Blue (which isn't all that bad)
80's - Dirty Work (Undercover a close runner up)
90 to the present - Bridges to Babylon (by a large margin)

    Undercover. Or A Bigger Bang.

    It's close.

Voodoo Lounge I really like half of, so I can't go there with that.

Anybody can say that about any band, so it's a meaningless statement.

I don’t know which is their worst album because I am only familiar with their good ones. Having said that, their worst album that is actually good has to be the one that came before the other good album that can certainly be considered great in some circles, but could never be considered their worst album.

  18. I don't think it is meaningless. I own and like every RS studio album, just some more than others!

My point is that every band has fans, and therefore someone will always be around to say that every album by said band "can be enjoyed on some level."

Since some people clearly do NOT think that every Rolling Stones album "can be enjoyed on some level" (hence the responses to the thread) the point is meaningless. So *YOU* enjoy every Rolling Stones album on some level. Great for you; others don't.

...yea..I love Wildcat but I don't want to touch this one...some of those post 80's Stones albums are very highly liked by many fans and who am I/we to say they're bad albums. I'll even say the same for Dirty Work which much as I'm not nuts about it, still has a redeemong quality here and there.

True, that *can* be said about the albums of any band but how is it a meaningless statement..? If nothing else it shows an open mindedness of the listener who can find good qualities even in an album most people despise.
