Can anyone that has the red white and blue splatter CCR comment on how it sounds and pressing quality?

I went around town (Columbus OH) looking for the Kenny Rogers 21 Greatest Hits since most stores stock said unknown and 2 said limited stock. Didn’t find any so I had to order online. I noticed all the stores record displays are REALLY bare. Look online though and so much has been bought and marked up. I suspect there’s plenty sitting in the stock people’s backroom spots as well and that’s why online inventory will say limited stock and unknown stock instead of out-of-stock.

They shipped it FedEx and it got here 2 days later from TX.

I’ve noticed that some stores have been pretty good at replenishing stock every few weeks. One of the stores near me
was pretty bare a few weeks ago and completely filled a few days ago. Keep checking.

I think the black vinyl looks nicer and I like it’s 180g (this feels pretty light) but for 24 bucks I went with this.

That does appear to be the case as I have several stores within range and one weekend it might be relatively bare, the next it's loaded back up. Back in March or so there was one weekend where a store I visited had clearly just "replenished" their stock and I was stunned to see several copies of the Metallica albums. I was missing Kill Em All and was able to pick it up since they had two copies. They had two copies of MOP, two of RTL, etc. A couple of weeks ago after not seeing it in stores at all I saw a copy of the Poison Greatest Hits LPs (it was released in November). So definitely keep checking as sometimes stock shows up randomly.

I haven’t seen any of the stores I’ve gone to in the last 2 months get restocked. They all have little but the crap nobody is gonna buy on vinyl.

The article about Walmart has a picture of Freakbeat Records. (instead of Walmart)

Tapping into a growing trend where old is new again, Walmart will host its first online Vinyl Mania Week beginning Monday, May 10 with exclusive and limited editions of vinyl records for music fans of all genres.

The five-day event on Walmart.com/vinyl-records, will include color vinyl discs from artists such as Machine Gun Kelly, Johnny Cash, Halsey, Post Malone, Keith Urban, KISS, Frank Sinatra and John Denver.

More than 150 titles — ranging from pop, soul and rock to country, folk and jazz — will be available, with new selections popping up each day.

Prices vary. A vinyl version of Journey’e greatest hits, for example, sells for $32.23, while AC/DC’s “Back in Black” album is listed at $18.97.

Wish I knew what the colored vinyl John Denver disc is. Don’t see one on the website.

Hmmm. The Journey and AC/DC albums aren’t color vinyl and aren’t new. They have been two of the mainstays of Walmart’s very limited in-store inventory for some time.

not sure what's on sale? Do you have to check the whole vinyl section?

    Queen - self LP $12.08
Reba McEntire LP Read My Mind (25th anniversary) $16.27
Blue Oyster Cult LP Fire of Unknown Cult $14.98
Alan Jackson 2LP greatest hits $20.97

    Probably the same as Amazon

i think walmart somewhat misgauges what artists/genres vinyl fans are interested in.
