I mean, Symptom of the Universe for me is a marvelous track: kick ass trash riffs, then this incredible solo, then this hippy-driven outro. Absolutely fantastic!! What a great song!

Thanks although I should have mentioned with Ozzy.

I wonder why? Such a superb musical piece… it makes the entire song!

  5. Maybe it was/is too challenging for Ozzy vocally? Not sure though - I would have guessed the rest of the song would be more difficult...

We’re the keyboards capable of emulating the acoustic guitar parts in the mid to late 70’s?

If I see a Sabbath CD compilation in a thrift store or such, I buy it, even though I hate compilations. I buy any other Sabbath on the same journey as well. It's like a disease, can't stop. I have seen Black Sabbath live twice in Finland, 1994 in Seinäjoki (Tony Martin) & 2012 in Helsinki (Ozzy).

No. And personally I think one could reasonably argue they really aren’t now, either. Although with “sampling” it could be approximated.

Sabbath also played the entire song including the outro with Halford in ‘92, but no acoustic. Sounds just fine on electric for a live setting, IMO. Iommi knows how to make that section work on electric. Not sure why he never attempted to do so in the seventies.

  10. And I don't know about 1992, but at least in 1994 and 1995 Geoff Nicholls regularly played 2nd guitar on some songs.

With Ozzy, no. With Tony Martin, yes. Halford, as well, but was never really the "singer" in Sabbath..He was helping friends out for a few gigs.

It’s too bad they didn’t include this show as the live component on the super deluxe…

Isn't that an audience recording? I don't think that'd fly with most people.

  22. Yes, it is an audience recording. Sabbath would never officially release an audience recording, and I understand why. Moreover, this recording is available for free everywhere. II would prefer them to release something previously unreleased.

Amazon USA now has a "Arriving Jun 15 - Jul 9" tag on my cd pre-order. I'm assuming some type of manufacturing problem(s) accounting for the delay. Anyone have any ideas? Are the LP orders delayed now as well?

  24. ImportCDs is still listing the 5 LP Box for a Jun 11 release date, but that could change I suppose. The pre-order price remains at $97.56 .

However, they have reduced the CD Box pre-order price from $36.18 to $29.80 (with the same release date as the LP Box).
