This is from the MV fandom site: "By 1986 Elvis was only seen occasionally and by 1988 was not seen at all. His status after Crockett left the Metro-Dade Police in 1989 remains unknown." Elvis So what's next, Nash Bridges? There was some good music and lots of guest stars too. Nothing like Vice though.
I love this show and the music so much, that I streamed a couple of tribute shows on my Mixcloud channel earlier this year, featuring select songs from all five seasons: Mixcloud (Part 1) Mixcloud (Part 2)
What a great episode, season 1 episode 8. I love the boat scene above with 'Born To Be Wild', and Lindsey Buckingham's 'Go Insane' is still a fantastic pop song all these years later. A house band performs the other two tracks in the show, but I couldn't resist adding the original 'Self Control'... great song!!
The problem with a lot of these early choices is that they're often not the originals, but performed by "party" bands during various scenes. Probably a licensing issue. EG.
I'd not heard this before watching the DVD set (being in the UK, it wasn't a hit here) but went and bought the album! Love this mindless kind of energetic 80s pop/rock. EG.
Oh! This track wasn't listed on the Miami Vice wiki...where I get most of my info to help create the CD boxset. I'll have to add it to my playlist EG.
Season 1 - Episode 10 - "Give A Little, Take A Little" Brian Ray (with Jill Colucci) - Today's A Beginning (two versions appeared in this episode, one instrumental, one with vocals)
Episode 10.... what an episode!! Not a lot of commercial music in this one, but the show itself - with Gina forced into sex to protect her cover and bust the bad guy - is one of the best of season 1, IMO.
