Young Marble Giants' one and only album 'Colossal Youth' celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, the Cardiff trio are releasing a special edition reissue. The 40th anniversary edition includes the album as well as songs from 'Salad Days', 'Is The War Over?', the 'Final Day' single and their 'Testcard' EP, plus a live DVD of their last ever US show at Hurrah in New York in 1980.

Jazz Weekly, June 10, 2018, George W. Harris

“Can there ever be such a thing as “too much” previously released Stan Getz recordings? Would you turn away from finding a book of undiscovered movies of Rita Hayworth or Ava Gardner? Next Question!
There are few things in musical life as rewarding as listening to Stan Getz’s tenor sax. Up there with Rossini, Mozart, Ellington and Montgomery, he had a sound that simply affirms the joy of existence. Here, he’s in his post-swing era and West Coast Cool mode and pre-bossa nova popularity, teamed with the driving team of the sublime drummer Roy Haynes, richly textured pianist Steve Kuhn and deeply grooved bassist John Neves for a November 26 gig from start to finish that sums up all that is right with jazz.”

Assuming you bought it locally, does it actually have KG@CA on the deadwax? I bought it, but just noticed that on Discogs there's no runout info for the European pressing. Could you please confirm? Because, if it's not the KG cut, I'll probably cancel.

Thank you for the deal alert @Arknine !

Hey @dastinger , yes mine has KG@CA in the deadwax (a bit difficult to see bc the damn thing is yellow!). I got it from Amazon UK but on pre-order, so not 100% that is going to be the same of course. But I would certainly keep the order on and check + listen

Numbered, Limited Edition 180g Vinyl 6LP Set!
Lacquers Cut by Sean Magee at Abbey Road Studios!

In the 1960s Decca pioneered the use of a multi 10-channel console mixer which created recordings with an unprecedented sense of spatial realism and movement – Phase 4 Stereo. Following in the footsteps of Decca’s highly-successful label heritage sets (The Decca Sound, Mercury Living Presence), this generous selection of the very best of Phase 4 promises to amaze a new generation of fans.

Two of the titles included in the set are on the TAS List – the Holy Grail of vinyl fidelity. This is a list of recordings recommended by The Absolute Sound magazine under the direction of Harry Pearson. Those two titles are Hermann: Fantasy Film World (PFS 4309) and Rozsa: Music From Ben Hur (PFS 4394).
