Started watching S2 last night....Prodigal Son. And already I'm needing to purchase some extra tracks...The System "Pleasure Seekers". EG.
I was unfamiliar with Todd Rundgren's 'Tiny Demons' but really like the song now. 'Turn Up The Radio' is a catchy tune as well, even if it has a slight Bon Jovi (not one of my favorites) feel to it. The video unfortunately, like a lot of 80's tunes, doesn't do it any favors. I recommend episode 11 as well, in which a rich kid junkie finds out how corrupt and sinister his own father is.
I hadn't notice an improvement in the picture quality, but it wouldn't surprise me. With high ratings for season 1, the production values/budget increased?
I finished Prodigal Son, wow what a superb episode. As for the tracks posted above, Tiny Demons was my biggest discovery so far in the Miami Vice series...I had no idea who it was or where it came from, but I needed to have it! Ended up buying a Todd Rundgren boxset with 13 albums for £13 and that track, and the album it's from, are my favourite. Was listening to the track again last night as part of a little recap on my Ultimate MV playlist... She's A Beauty In The Night New Girl Now I Send A Message Girls With Guns Tiny Demons Turn Up The Radio EG.
Catching Up ... just finished "Glades", best episode so far, great music. Here it is episode 10 because the pilot counts as an episode as well.
Only one song for episode 13, "Golden Triangle (Part I)". When I heard the song within the episode, I was not impressed, but taken on it's own the performance is ok. Some pretty smokin' guitar playing on it, performed by Dean Parks.
Golden Triangle Pt.1 finishes off CD2 of my Ultimate Miami Vice set. There's a lot of great Jan Hammer incidental music/score throughout the early episodes, which I slot in according to where they appear in the story. EG.
