Deep Discount and the Blowout Bin go together like butter and toast, chocolate and peanut butter, rum and coke, IPA and great tunes spinning on vinyl. I'm not overly concerned and think speculation of the DDBB's demise is rather premature. In the words of Yoda: Patience, you must have.
My comment was more aimed at seeing the big discounts on new drops may be over. Seeing that they have not "fixed" the 5%-10% off items in the bin for a while now, perhaps they feel that the small discount are good enough to sell vinyl as "BB" item now..
Not exactly DD pricing, but I have stuff in my cart at importcds and popmarket and in the last few day I have received an email with a one time $5 off code from both places. Might be worth a try...
Got a text this morning 15% off site wide but site only shows horror/scifi sale. Anyone have a code for 15% off everything?
New discount on in-stock items, thru Wednesday, May 19, noon, central time. Promo code SPRING15, save an additional 15% on in-stock items. Some restrictions apply.* Coupon only valid through Wednesday 5/19/2021 at noon CT. 15% savings applies to IN-STOCK items only. Savings do not apply to shipping and taxes
Well I placed an order for some stuff that had been sitting in my basket for a while but only one title from the Bin. Sigh.
Speaking of ImportCDs, vs DeepDiscount, it is weird since they are sister companies under the same corporate overlords now, that DD has coupons seemingly every week whereas ImportCDs only has them like 4-5 times a year. Thinking more about it on the other hand I guess it makes sense if the companies are still run independently with their own way of doing things (for instance ImportCDs as the name suggests handles mostly releases imported to USA & never offers free postage unlike DD). I guess ICD is more of a niche market and DD is the more mass market/large volume dealer (?). Both of their customer service depts are similar though (leave much to be desired, at least in my experience).
I think that’s true for sure. DD offers everything under the sun really. Music is a fraction of it. Movies, toys, clothing, etc... Also while I think you are correct about them being run separately, it would not shock me at all to know that the customer service teams are indeed one in the same, very likely exported overseas to India or the like. Those sorts of decisions usually do fall to Corporate, so it would make sense.
they also have blowitoutahere.com and popmarket.com, I usually add what I want to the cart on each site, apply any discount codes and see who is the cheapest. Often it is Importcds even without codes or free shipping.
Is blowitoutahere based somewhere in Asia like Hong Kong or something like that? There was a discount type place that I bought USA release CDs from based in Asia a couple years ago but I can't recall the name. I think something might have happened to dissuade me from ordering from them again but don't remember the story.
I could be wrong, but you might be thinking of CD Wow! which later changed its name to Wow HD!. I think they were based in the UK and Asia, I seem to remember ordering something from them and it was shipped by Hong Kong post, but I might be mixing up memories.
