Doh! Of course! Too far down the Eurovision rabbit hole to understand the reference.

The lack of rock music charting in Sweden is baffling, especially given how big the Sweden Rocks festival seems to be. Plenty of great bands coming out of there too.

 

Well, Sweden is a great country for rock for sure but I do think that you can see a steeper drop off age wise there more than you can in the UK where young rock groups still get #1 albums for example.

I'd say the last big hard rock/metal bands are probably Sabaton and Ghost but after that, there's a real avalanche of music I'd prefer to avoid

But there's definitely lots of great music from Sweden even in recent years and bands like Avatarium, Wobbler, the Flower Kings, Soen, Moon Safari, Karmakanic, Gungfly and of course Opeth and older bands like Kaipa are out there representing as they say (I also really like Sorcerer quite a bit and if you like Dio era Rainbow you might too)

Great band. Both guitarists can really play and are schooled and their vocalist can really sing as well. Maybe Sabbath with Dio is a closer comparison but either way, I enjoy them :
