It's too bad she never really did one:

From Google News, I found out that there is a new Japanese Live Album called Trees of the Ages: Laura Nyro Live From Japan and it released will be released July 16, 2021.

It is from a February 1994 concert.

There is a sound clip of her singing Wedding Bells Blues.

It's a reissue of the 2003 release "An Evening With Laura Nyro - Live in Japan 1994", the 21 track version. Though this time newly remastered by Michael Graves, plus updated artwork and new liner notes. Beautiful cover !!

And the same label (Omnivore) is releasing her 1966 audition tape later in September...

I’ve never heard this, but a few bootlegs exist of Laura performing with the Harmony band. Because Laura’s piano is carrying all the instrumental weight, the quality of that instrument is very important.

Does anyone know if this Japan tour recording was performed on a “real” piano, as opposed to the electronic piano Laura used on some of the US gigs?

There's a trailer joining both releases... the live clip really doesn't sound like an acoustic piano to me, certainly not a grand... It's ok though.

The audition bit is amazing... That's an acoustic allright, vertical I guess and slightly out of tune, could have benefitted from Laura's dad hand
    :):):)
    ...simply amazing anyway:

The 1966 audition tape is referenced in Michele Kort's great bio. I always found it baffling that, while she is playing her heart out, finally being able to showcase her own material, they would ask her if she knew any pop songs. She even sort of (endearingly) justifies herself "I know a few lines from each one" - and the reply is "There's Irving Berlin" (!)
    Unbelievable.

You can hear this happening at the end of the clip, exactly as described in the book.

The official release of that audition tape is really welcome. Sound quality seems to be fine. Can't wait.

This is great news indeed. The fragment stuff is frustrating, can you imagine her wrapping the tonsils around the great American song book?!
Gotta wonder about the unreleased songs--she might have thought they weren't good, but they could be great.
    And LAZY SUSAN!!!!!!!!!!!

So over a month after I messaged the label via Facebook asking whether or not the box set was going to be all analogue, they responded: "All masters were obtained from the original record company and remastered for this box set." This, of course, does not answer the question so I have asked a followup and maybe I'll get an answer in approximately six weeks.
