We're still discussing Yes Every thread reaches a saturation point sometime before the release of the album in question. All relevant points of view have been said and discussed, but there's still time to digress before the release, and that is part of the fun here! Then there is a burst of opinions after the release, but to my surprise the past-release discussion is usually shorter than the pre-release discussion. I wonder why
Huh. I just checked and you're right, "Ritual" is there but clearly from a different source. It might've been sent to radio stations that way, though, for reasons we'll never know.
Regarding the 'Masterworks Tour' In 2001 there were three promo versions of 'Magnification' in the US, 'Best Buy', 'FYE', and 'Borders' exclusives, that included an extra disc, containing one of the epics each - Close to the Edge, Gates of Delirium, or Ritual. All from Holmdel I think.
Yes I saw the pictures of the flight case boxes en-route from China. I hope the vinyl isn't being pressed in China?
I remember being deeply irritated by the way they rolled out the bonus tracks - you had to buy the album three times, at three different stores, in order to get all the bonus material. Each version also included the same version of "Long Distance Runaround," described as "LIVE with orchestra," but the orchestra had actually been overdubbed onto an existing live recording. I ended up burning all the bonus tracks to a single CD-R to save shelf space.
Thanks for the info on some Masterworks tour recordings, all. I'll be seeking out those released (and unreleased...) tracks for certain. The show I saw, they opened the concert with the usual taped orchestral music...which segued right into the opening sound effects to Close To The Edge...that was so incredible. CttE as a concert opener! It was the best version I ever saw them play - something really magical was in the air, particularly at the start of its slow third section. I only wish the two Union tour shows I saw came near that, though I remember Awaken being strong.

It's not a complete list from the tour. For that, you would need a Billboard or Pollstar subscription. The Vancouver show more than likely grossed close to $200,000. Considering the ticket prices were $25-$30, the attendance would've been about 7,000. And the promoter was Perryscope Productions...
My order is still showing as ok. Maybe they will cancel it or perhaps I`ll get it as I pre-ordered a while ago.
I just got this email and I'm pretty angry about it. I have never had anything like this happen before, have any of you?
Mine was cancelled as well. The text in French should anyone want to translate. Hopefully these will be clearanced out at a similar price closer to the end of the year. I can’t imagine they’re going to sell out at list price.
This bit would annoy me... like somehow the customer was wrong in ordering this because the price “was clearly wrong when you made your purchase...”. How about, “We kindly ask you to accept our apologies for the mistake we made...” ? But that’s just me and I don’t know if the translation has something to do with it. Hope all of you who still want it will eventually find it at a good price.
Amazon France has pulled this stunt before. I remember placing an order for the 17(?) CD Vangelis box set a couple of years ago because the price was ridiculously low and I thought "well I am really interested in just a few of those but for that kind of money, I'm in!". And then, of course amazon cancelled the order.
No, the translation TwentySmallCigars has made is accurate. "We kindly ask you to accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused.' is indeed was they're saying in that email.
I received that cancel message also. It's interesting how a customer should know that the price was wrong? I would like to see how their action would hold on court!
For anyone who has never seen the Classic Artists documentary DVD (it's very good), here's a clip of Peter Banks talking about the 'Steve Howe incident' that was discussed several pages ago in this thread. It's very honest.
Does anyone know this answer and if the extra tracks will be on on the bonus disc if they aren't releasing it as a complete show?
