I'm a big fan of Ronnie Milsap and his version of "why don't you spend the night" is my favorite song by him. I ran across this Joe Fagin effort and it pulled me in. The guitars trip some pleasure sound chip in my brain

I can't explain why I like Oh! Penelope so much, but I just do. They only managed to stay together from 1994 to 1997 with one album and a handful of EP's before they imploded. One of the Shibuya-kei bands that put out some great stuff. Influenced by the Beatles, Serge Gainsbourg, sunshine pop and everything else that is good. Wish they did more.

 

Not surprised this isn’t on YouTube. This cd by the band Strangelight came through my college radio station and I thought this song, Red Drums, was amazing. Nice slightly weird vibe on the verses, with a cool vocal. It’s a driving, emotional alternative rock song and singer starts to soar at the end. Hopefully when someone makes a comp of rare early ‘00s nuggets they dig this one up.

I've been listening to Howard Haigh, excellent guitarist and composer from Lancaster UK.
He's done a lot over the years, including some quite high profile performances in London and for BBC radio. In Bandcamp his tags include classical/Spanish guitar, latino-blues, folk and world.
I'll link to his most recent work, his 2020 lockdown album Tree Dance. The various parts were recorded remotely then mixed together. It's all rather lovely and uplifting
