I caught the last four songs and liked three of them!
The title track sounded very New Order to my ears.
Will need to check others out today.

Loving the new album. Some real gems here. I think this is the greatest group of songs on a Garbage album since Version 2.0 in 1998.

Finishing my first listen now. I think it's great. :)

Going to save the singles for another time.

Damned, early reviews seem to mirror that sentiment:

No Gods No Masters by Garbage

NME calls it "their best album in 20 years - at least" which brings up "Beautiful Garbage". Incidentally been revisiting that record earlier this week and liked it. Just not as much as "Garbage" and "Version 2.0" which externally seem to be the goldstandart for this band.

Streamed "No Gods" today during workout and realized I should break up my RSD vinyl tonight and give it a proper listen.

This is such an atrocious album. Sounds like all that b-grade early 2000’s wannabe Marilyn Manson stuff that’s long since been forgotten. Horribly dated and lame.

Never thought I'd say this - because I had my problems with everything post "Beautiful" - but: I love this album. Harking back to the industrial/ "Goth" sound of - 2nd single - "Subhuman" feels spot on. It's what's presently required. Very good record, very nice on vinyl. Manson is thoroughly in fantastic voice and the arrangements and writing are strong throughout. Obviously the sound is firmly rooted in a certain era (the 90's) but: Hey!

This is their best and most consistent since.... "Version 2.0"? Hands up: Who was expecting this?

I had similar thoughts when I streamed it earlier today but after I immersed myself in the vinyl version I couldn't disagree more.

My wife (who likes Garbage far more than I do) begged me to turn it off. God bless.

After the first listen: I think the music delivered on some of the positive reviews, but the lyrics ruin some of the tracks. There were definitely some songs I liked though, particularly on the second half of the album.

I must give it a listen, but tbh I haven't really liked any of their albums since beautiful garbage.

This was my experience - Shirley’s lyrics are weak but music is strong.

Second half songs are better than first half.

How are the dynamics on the RSD vinyl? Because the Apple Lossless stream is utter sonic garbage. I couldn't make it two songs in....

I'm not into waveforms but my system gives me ear fatigue when playing certain albums. This is not one of them.

Weird thing with Spotify, just checked "new indie, heavy, pop rock releases" Garbage wasn't there. Found out via this thread that it was released. Is Spotify ignoring this release somehow? Or is it too new to show up in the feed? It's there of course, if you know to look for it anyone else?

Hats off for Garbage, only a few left from the 90’s. Well Pearl Jam and Smashing Pumpkins then, rest are all gone or something like that.

    Garbage is back!
I'm liking the album! Godhead, Waiting for God, The Man Who Rule the World, really great tunes.
And finally we get No Horses and Time Will Destroy Everything on a cd edition!
(Time Will Destroy Everything gives me chills, it reminds me of the time I saw Garbage live!)
