Today's problem is I'm finding that the address lines are limited to only 37 characters including spaces. Kind of a pain as the address I'm shipping to is complicated and can't be easily abbreviated. I've asked the recipient for advice including possibly an alternate address. These problems are getting to be a pain as I end up wasting too much time looking for a solution. Plus it's hotter than hell here.

Sorry I'm no help with your Paypal issue. Hopefully you'll find a solution soon.

PayPal, like all the other online USPS shipping services I'm aware of, will standardize the address using USPS's database. So unless the recipient name is longer than 37 characters, you should be fine once PayPal actually processes and generates the shipping label. You also effectively have 74 characters because the interface gives you two address lines.

Both address lines are way over the 37. I've tried to use all 3 lines including the name but I'm still having problems as if I abbreviate too much I'm afraid it might not be deliverable. I'm still waiting to hear back from the recipient. It's a strange problem. I'm stuck as I don't want to send this and have it get lost. Another beef I have is that people come here on the forums to browse and don't reply to conversations.

If the payment came through Paypal, and they will be determining whether or not the address you send to will be acceptable for their "seller protection", why not ask them?

Well, only because you want a (hopefully constructive) comment from a browser. If it was me, I would just make my own label and mail it at the post office. The cost, I think is about the same and includes tracking. With tracking there probably is little chance of a problem with buyer. If there was, the tracking should satisfy PayPal. I hate having to go to the post office for many reasons, but once in a while, you have to bite the bullet in the name of customer service.

It would be nice if the buyer would respond to my requests for possibly an alternate address. He's visited the forum since my request but doesn't answer any of my conversations, Very annoying. It would only take a minute.
