Actors/Celebs Who Get Mistaken for Each Other

Rodney Allen Rippy and Gary Coleman

 

When they were young adults, I thought Jerry O'Connell (after he lost his weight) and Jason Bateman looked alike.

Also, I used to confuse John Saxon with Michael Ironside and vice versa. Don't know why either, as Ironside is bald and Saxon wasn't. Also Saxon was 14 years older than Ironside. The only thing I can think of was both of them played good villains/ guys you loved to hate /SOBs in multiple films in the '80s/'90s.

 

More likely: Gary Coleman and Emmanuel Lewis!

 

Ron Perlman and TomWaits definitely.

 

If anyone should be mistaken for Michael Ironside, it's Marc Macaulay... I'm pretty sure they're actually the same person.

I first saw Newton in a Auzzie film back in the mid-90s, and I was, like, "Who is that girl??"

This one merged on plagiarism or identity-theft back in the late-90s...

 

I can't say I see the resemblance between Heston and Franciscus, but it sure did take me awhile to be able to keep Lee Marvin and James Coburn straight...

 

Actually, the main reason franscius was cast in the planet of apes sequel was because the producers thought he looked like heston, I think they look like each other facially, but they have different builds and voices.
Marvin and Coburn were often mixed up, because they looked alike. They also had similar physiques and deep, gravelly voices.

 

Put Ted Cassidy ('Lurch' on "The Addams Family") in with those two and you'd have an odd set of triplets.

In the 1950s and 1960s there was a character actor named Robert Middleton who resembles Ed Asner. He was 18 years older than Asner but died when he was 66 whereas Asner is still with us at age 91.

Denis Leary apparently gets mistaken for Willem Dafoe a lot. I read an interview w/him where he said every time someone on the street says to him "Hey, Green Goblin, you the man!" he wonders if Willem gets people saying "Dude, why the f*** did you do 'Operation Dumbo Drop'?"
