Good. I had been worried about his speaking voice because I feared earlier that it sounded broken for good. Thus, am glad to hear his voice is stronger. If his speaking voice gets better, his singing voice can hold up better I would think. Yes, I knew he’d way overdone singing for too long, no/little water on too many tours.

Anyone know what the music snippets are that play at 0:20, 0:34, 0:43 and 1:19?

Dunno but it sounds like generic 60s/surfer stuff.

I'd be surprised if it was Paul. Honestly a little disappointed too.

In the GMA bit, you see Paul playing the Paperback Writer riff on bass. Now THAT is cool.

Well he clearly talks about Band On The Run at some point with that Lagos tapes theft story so there is some Wings at least.

I must say I am shocked that they colorised all those beautiful historic black and white photos....

I would love to see if Rick Rubin could break out in McCartney what he found in Johnny Cash. I can't remember the last time
I cared for new music from McCartney and that breaks my heart.

While I can't help but agree with you, the bulk of the Cash formula during the American sessions was just old man Cash and an acoustic with zero echo and a vocal-forward mix.

This would be neat to hear from Paul but the heart-breaking part was just the focus on the "old man" part more than anything.

Just curious what was the last heart-breaking Paul you have heard?

Folks have different tastes but I have very much enjoyed most Macca 21st century music although was a fan of his Linda years.

    Yeah, doesn't make sense....

I have a younger colleague who won't watch black and white movies on tv, so I can understand that in order to attract the younger people they colorise the photos. Don't like it, but understand. But then they add this dark, black & white interview part?

    Dr. Pepper What, me worry?

For me the most enjoyable Paul decades of material:

    1960s - Beatles
    1970s - Wings
2010s - Ocean's Kingdom, Complete Kisses, Live at Capital, New, Egypt Station, McCartney III
2000s - Liverpool Sound Collage, Driving Rain, Chaos, Memory Almost Full, Electric Arguments
1990s - Off The Ground, Rushes, and Flaming Pie
1980s - Tug Of War, Pipes Of Peace, Broadstreet, Press To Play, Flowers In The Dirt

You picked some great stuff…Because Paul music is so varied and everyone’s tastes are so different, I’d however exchange a few of your most enjoyable selections. However , many kudos for citing the now by many folks sadly underrated wings stuff and for citing off the ground an overlooked era and for including driving rain and press to play along with cool oddities like sound collage and electric arguments,

That’s amazing to me and probably to other somewhat older folks…as some of the classic and greatest movies and shows were done in black and white and remember when my family got our first color tv in 67. I date myself I know, lol.

Yeah, he also left off Ram and I love Macca II/singles and prefer the Russian choba oldies album with summertime, one of his finest vocals IMO. This proves what another poster says along here in the forum ….his music has something for everyone…. but if you stay back in his earlier times, you miss a lot.
