I'll buy it. I have the old DVD, and my ex-girlfriend had never seen the movie, so I unearthed it years ago for a watch. It has a terribly squashed-looking, boxy 4:3 picture (I'm just guessing at the aspect ratio, it's probably something else).

    True Romance?
The Sicilian scene and James Gandolfini give the film real menace.

    True
Just had a look at the 4K cover( a bit garish) guess it’s a pulp novel effect. But the price 40.00.. a wee bit expensive. Half that price .. please and it’s doable. :)

The movie is so harrowing and gritty in parts, that I'm glad
Christian Slater's character Clarence didn't die.
Maybe it's better QT didn't direct it.

Apparently, Tony Scott had the scripts for both TR and Reservoir Dogs early on, and wanted to direct Dogs, but QT wanted it for his directorial debut.

    It all worked out fine.

Saying that maybe QT’s choice of lead actor maybe the character deserved to die... depends on the actor!!!

Most commercial I’d of thought Pulp Fiction or inglorious basterds. All subjective regards to best.

Honestly, it’s easier to cite my least favorites than my favorites. About the only ones that haven’t got repeated viewings since release are Hateful and Jackie Brown. I will periodically pull out most of the rest of them from time to time. I loved Pulp so much after it came out, I watched it far too much. Once… has become something of a touchstone film for me as it continually gave me joy and kept me sane throughout the pandemic. I never tire of it, and it’s clearly the Tarantino movie with the lightest overall tone (Hateful wins for darkest, imho).

I stopped rewatching his films honestly. Don't think I've seen Basterds, Django, or Once Upon A Time.. more than once. I started rewatching Hateful 8 a few years ago and couldn't get through it. Thing is, I like all of those movies, but I would rather spend that time watching something I haven't seen. And Quentin's movies have gotten so damn long.

And yeah, Once with its lackadaisical plot is probably his lightest "hangout movie" as he calls them, where you're just kind of hanging out with the characters.

Hateful is certainly the toughest to get through, I think. Partially for length and partially for having too many characters of questionable moral centers (okay, maybe Walton Goggins' character has some redeeming qualities). It's very well done; it's just not pleasant watch.

Yeah exactly. I enjoyed it for the most part in the theater, caught a 70mm screening. But I have little desire to watch it again, and that seems to be happening more and more for me with QT's movies since the Kill Bill flicks.

    Two favourites are ..
    Drum roll....
    Jackie Brown
    Reservoir Dogs

He has a way with words, just don’t always agree with his reviews. :)

His movies do tend to improve with repeated viewings. I’ve seen Hollywood nine times now and still love it. Feel like I just have to spend time with those characters, which is very unusual for me.
