I just preordered and looks like no additional shipping charges to Canada.

Dave downplays the importance of track list but the track list of the stand alone 3 CD version fails to excite......I'm going for the big box!!!!

Anyone know what format of the box is? If its like GSTL I'm out. I don't like that at all. Pretty but its a pita to deal with.

It's there. It sure would be nice to get the booklet with digital orders. This one sounds especially interesting.

This is all I see relative to format

The collection comes in a slipcase with artwork by Liane Plant and features an 84-page hardbound book as well as other Dead surprises.

They haven’t done one like that since, I don’t see why they’d go back. No doubt they received a lot of feedback. I agree, it’s such a pain I rarely grab the discs.

And yes, yes I know that I’m way behind on ripping my collection to FLAC and never having to deal with the discs again.

I get the physical releases because I want the booklets. If the downloads came with a PDF I’d be tempted to go that route

Thanks. I did not get the email on this yet but I will definitely pre-order this.

$50 less and no shelf space vs the liner notes and the pure joy of unboxing.

Great googly moogly. Disc 10 from 10/18/72:
    1. PLAYING IN THE BAND> [16:16]
    2. DRUMS> [2:46]
    3. DARK STAR> [28:28]
    4. MORNING DEW> [11:06]
    5. PLAYING IN THE BAND [5:31]

edit: and every '72 show has a Bird Song. Heavens to Murgatroid.

And exactly this is being released as an exclusive 2LP: https://store.dead.net/special-edit...es-fox-theatre-st-louis-mo-10-18-72-2-lp.html. I'm super in for this 2LP as well as the 5LP of 12-10-71. Fantastic shows here.

It looks like they had to slide 3 tracks back to disc 19 to keep 20 an uninterrupted flow. Seems like a good choice given what disc 20 is.

10/29 is probably the better show, but 10/30 is no slouch and a fantastic setlist. HCS, China Rider, Playin, Dark Star, Eyes, WRS in one show. When the possibility of releasing the Kiel shows came up one time in the Grateful Thread, I said I hoped they didn't just raid the 2nd show. Pumped that these shows weren't given the Dave's Picks treatment.

Other One from 10-29-72 has some of the most incredible jamming, Phil and Keith weirding out in some crazy mode (Phrygian?) while Jerry plays straight Other One leads, it's spectacular

I’ll need to check the 71 set list against the Dave’s Picks release from NYC Felt Forum recorded three days prior for set list similarities. Space is becoming an issue.

    EPIC release!
Ordered 20 CD box and 2 lp set from Dead net
Ordered 5 lp box from Amazon just to spread out the cost, since Dead net charges time of order.

Between this and the Dylan BS 16, I have just preordered a ton of stuff in the last 30 minutes!

Do I really need another 20 discs of the dead? This seems like a bit of a cash grab at $200 considering 80 cds was only $700 at the time of its release and came in a swell box.
