Yes, all true. Your whole life can radically change in 5 seconds... and not necessarily for the better. First thing I thought of. Albuquerque can have rough weather: very hot during the day, and often pretty chilly at night. Also very low humidity. No new news beyond this... David Cross & Michael McKean Among Bob Odenkirk’s Well-Wishers – Deadline
I was wondering if it was something like John Ritter and Alan Thicke died from. He's older than Ritter but younger than Thicke. The sudden collapse instantly reminded me of how their fatal incidents were described. They did not die instantly, and Ritter inparticular is said to have died from improper treatment of the problem. So if Bob had something similar, he could've survived it.
My guess was stroke, heart attack or some weird Covid-19 situation. I hope his son is right and Bob will get well soon.
Bob's team says it was, in fact, his heart. I hope he has a good, easy under the circumstances, recovery. The show can wait as long as he needs.
At least there is some news. Been watching this guy for so many years now, hope he makes a full recovery.
Ritter and Thicke had an aortic dissection. Ritter was incorrectly treated for a heart attack at first.
Yes, they're calling it a "heart-related incident". I'm surprised that the Hollywoo Reporter got the news out before TMZ! More on Deadline... Bob Odenkirk In Stable Condition After “Heart Related Incident”: Rep – Deadline I'm glad to hear that, because that you can recover from. Speaking as a heart-attack survivor (3 in one day, thank you very much), if it's something relatively simple and there's no actual heart damage, you can be up and running within 3-4 days. But a close friend of mine had a heart attack about 10 years ago and collapsed in his home, and by the medics they got to him, unfortunately part of his brain had been starved of blood flow for about 10 minutes, and that was enough to cause permanent damage. As the doctors later explained, "it's like having your hard drive completely wiped: all his memories are gone, including how to walk and talk and eat." Very sad case. I pray that Odenkirk had a much simpler situation and got the best of care very quickly, and will be back to normal soon.
The original story said that collapsed in front of everybody, so I suppose we can assume they got help there very quickly.
Hope Bob's okay. The Hollywood Reporter story makes it sound like he's doing alright, considering. For a bit of levity, a hilarious sketch from the With Bob & David show from a few years back:
A recent interview Bob Odenkirk said when he got the part in BB, he said to Vince Gilligan “I have an idea can Saul Goodman have a combover ( hairstyle” and Vince Gilligan said “yeah we can do that”.
Yeah it was kind of a Bob & David reunion show from around 2015 on Netflix. Only 3-4 episodes but quite funny still.
