Make sure all tracks are highlighted (chosen)
It will scan each track. If the drive isn't compatible it may go into a never-ending scan loop

This disc has now been verified as having pre SUBQ channel.

Thanks for refreshing my memories, c-eling! I did just that with that particular pre-beta version of EAC and the process starts over when it reaches the last track of the disc. It basically goes in a loop and never ends. Guess it's my Lenovo Blu-ray rom that can't detect sub-coded pre-emphasis. Oh, well, at least I tried!

Update: I'm getting the "never-ending loop" even when a non pre-emphasis cd is being analyzed the same way.

Have you tried ripping the CD with EAC pre-beta (or the up to date Cueripper) and checked the cue file for the "flags pre"?

Edit: Also, I'm sure you're aware, but the ripping process itself is the same regardless of the CD having pre-emphasis or not. It's only about knowing whether or not the resulting files need post processing to get them to sound as intended. Neither EAC or Cueripper apply de-emphasis automatically when detecting pre-emphasis.

I'm thinking of buying this cd and, according to Discogs, it has pre-emphasis in TOC:

Jean-Pierre Rampal, Claude Bolling ‎– Bolling: Suite No. 2 For Flute & Jazz Piano Trio (CBS ‎– MK 42318)

Not sure if it qualifies for the compiled list in this thread, but I thought I put it out here. Link here: Jean-Pierre Rampal, Claude Bolling – Bolling: Suite No. 2 For Flute & Jazz Piano Trio (1987, CD)

Off: I can't make Cueripper to rip my cds - guess I'm just too senile but it keeps talking about that it can't make the rip in batch mode or smtg like that. Very frustrating. Tried to look for a tutorial online, to no avail. EAC ripped the disc all right, but, upon opening the CUE file in notepad I just see this:

Probably correct, another title of his has been listed here.
The loop happens when an incompatible drive is used. I went through three of them. Wouldn't work with cueripper either.

You are most definitely using incompatible OS. In my experience, you need windows 2000 for those old EAC versions to detect subcode flags without looping or other nonsenses. Even in XP didn't work for me, tho possibly would work in XP with lesser service pack. Don't expect that it will work correctly on anything newer. So if you're not willing to have a legacy computer where it would work, instead use the other method - CUEripper. That one works on newer OSes as well (latest I tried is 7, cannot confirm for 8 or 10). What was said by other guy above regarding incompatible drive, might be another issue in addition, I don't know. But what I said applies considering you have drive that is able to detect flags in subcode to begin with.

If TOC, yes you would of been able to detect it. But if you are unable to detect SUBQ, we still don't know for sure.
Under EAC Options, do you have the first of the three dots checked?

Do you know if the Drive nuprime CDT 8 pro correct pre-emphasis ? because when i read the EMI Deep purple machine head with pre-emphasis it sounds almost exact as the DCC with more 3D.

I have both CD:s and can say that the early EMI CD without compensating for pre-emphasis sounds much brighter than the DCC. My de-emphasised files of the EMI CD indeed sound tonally similar to the DCC. The DCC just sounds a bit leaner (I prefer the de-emphasised EMI).

So yes, I'd say the CDT 8 probably detects pre-emphasis and corrects it through its DSP-board. Don't know if the drive can detect pre-emphasis in the subcode though. The Machine head EMI has the flags in the TOC, so that's how I detected it when ripping the CD.
