There a quite a number of intriguing titles that are free. Most, however, are not very good. And if you've got a good ad blocker or subscribe to the Premium service (which I recommend, mostly because of the complimentary YouTubeMusic app) there are no ads. And even without those commercial interruptions are generally minimal. Which free movies have you seen and can recommend? Here's a recent list of notable films currently streaming:

Not crazy about the above poster's choices. Here are classics that I've seen and can heartily recommend, though:
    O Brother, Where Art Thou?
    The Terminator
    Interview With A Vampire
    Muscle Shoals
    The Last of the Mohicans
    Coriolanus
    Fastball
All Quiet On The Western Front
    The Wrecking Crew

Despite my wariness of Spielberg I'm watching A.I. (2001) for the first time tonight. I avoided all the hoopla when it was playing in theaters. Took only 20 years to get to it (maybe it'll have been worth the wait :p ).

Indeed. But which are the good ones? I just listed the one I've enjoyed over the years. Most, as you've listed, are forgettable.

I do enjoy watching a good version of Another Man's Poison, a routine but fun Bette Davis flick, whenever I see it.

I mainly follow classics channels like Pizzaflix in YT.

Watched Rod Serlings ‘Patterns’ the other night. Amazing film.

Love Pizzaflix. Yeah, some of the poster channels are just as good if not better than the commercial streamers.

There is a bit of fun in the hunt. I occasionally stumble upon enjoyable films I had never heard of, most recently this one:

Alternatively, I'll cross-check wikipedia for films nominated for best picture and check out more famous films that I had not seen. I can't believe that I had not seen this one:

The colorized 1960 Little Shop of Horrors is a fun watch. Roger Corman never copyrighted it. Theatrically, it apparently only played as the b-movie in double features with two other movies, but then began airing on TV.

They colorized it well after the release, yes? Classic. Prefer the black and white version (on The Tube as well).

I'm assuming the YouTube one is the 2006 colorized one, because it looks good. I like seeing colorized versions of shows that were cheaply made at the time, and have colorful stuff in them. I don't think it hurts it when you weren't dealing with masterful cinematography to begin with.

The film was colorized twice, the first time being in 1987.[45] This version was poorly received. The film was colorized again by Legend Films, who released its colorized version as well as a restored black-and-white version of the film on DVD in 2006.[46][47] Legend Films' colorized version was well received,[48][49] and was also given a theatrical premiere at the Coney Island Museum on May 27, 2006.[50]

YT constantly adds and removes titles... Of those that are available now and that I haven't watched, these are in my queue. The first three, definitely. Atlas Shrugged mainly because the book is overhyped. Everything else is whether I have time to watch a movie.

    O Brother, Where Art Thou?
    Of Mice and Men
All Quiet On The Western Front
    Atlas Shrugged Part 1
    Atlas Shrugged II: The Strike
    Atlas Shrugged: Part 3
    The Sum of All Fears
    A.I. Artificial Intelligence
    The Terminal
    Australia
    School Ties
    Jackie Chan: City Hunter

No budget Masterpiece is one of the apt descriptions of this noir classic. First time for me. Should be fun.

I love its frantic nature, but I get that I'm probably the only one I know who loves the film, so it definitely seems to divide audiences.
