Why is why I was an SCTV (CBC version) devotee.

The world is suddenly a lot less funny. Norm was one of the very best comedic minds.

I watch his original Norm MacDonald Live show on almost continuous repeat and will continue to do so. I feel very lucky to have had my life brightened by his comedy.

You can mark the moment that SNL fired Norm as the point where it became no longer worth watching.

Yeah, when I downloaded them earlier this year, I stopped at the last Norm episode.

Awful news - As bad as the news of George Carlin's passing was in 2008.

A real loss, as in today's world we could use more Norm MacDonalds, not less.

When he came back to host, in his monologue he shared that he was fired for not being funny, yet was now being asked to host. He then wondered, "how did I go from not even being allowed to being in the building, to being funny enough to host. Then it occurred to me, I hadn't gotten funnier, the show is just really bad."

He was born Oct 17, 1963 so he was 57, not 61.

The gleam in his eyes, you knew something was coming and it did.
Then your rolling on the floor.

This is like a punch to the gut. Comedy is definitely less funny now.

He didn’t care what others thought about him. And he always had a quick and humorous comeback. He will be missed.
