I am truly enjoying grieving for a public figure whose fans can contribute memorable whimsy at the same time we are paying our respects. Just the line, "the cancer dies too, so it's a draw", is comedy gold.
Been enjoying all the "I didn't even know he was sick" callback jokes. I doubt Norm would want it any other way.
I'm sad, yet I keep laughing my ass off because I'm watching all these clips and Norm has me in the floor!
Worst thing I've heard on the news. Gilbert knows! "Oh now, Gilbert. You're gonna get into trouble again."
Very sad to hear. Loved Norm doing Burt Reynolds... Can't believe he had cancer that long. RIP Norm....
Norm as Larry King. Perfect delivery of really inane lines! One of the TOWERING figures of the 20th century has to be JAMES BROLIN! The more I think about it the more I love John Laroquette! Venetian blinds are great but so are vertical blinds! I've spoken with Pinochet and that guy? He's got a TERRIFIC laugh! Is anybody else around here getting sick and tired of Nelson Mandela? If you could only see ONE movie again for the rest of your life, that movie should be MICKEY BLUE EYES!
Norm was unique...wasn't afraid of the PC police and the like minded. He was insightful, honest, and one of the funniest humans that walked the planet. Thank you Norm...you will be missed.
How hard it must have been to keep his illness under wraps all these years! I agree with the post that SNL wasn’t quite the same after he left. And Norm was great playing Mike’s brother in The Middle. RIP
Well, he HAD a routine about the very phrase "losing the battle with cancer." It's not losing the battle with cancer, as if cancer can determine the terms of surrender and the peace terms. Pretty sure that if I die of cancer, the cancer dies too. It's a draw! So it's ironic to see that very phrase splashed all over the media. I bet he knew he'd have the last laugh!
I fell really bad about Norm MacDonald dying. I hope someone finds out that he once tweeted something sort of controversial so that i can stop feeling bad.
I like his bit about being aggravated at the ATM machine, when you're behind some guy with a complicated transaction like a hostile takeover of AT&T! You've experienced it!
