A couple weeks ago, out of the blue, the youtube app on my TV started suggesting a bunch of Norm's videos. Very strange... RIP
So unexpectedly sad to hear. He gave THE standout farewell when Letterman was going off the show- hope he felt as much loved in his world as he loved Dave. A unique talent with the finest timing - I guess he'll be most remembered for his Moth story. Norm buddy, I 'm thinking that right now someone in heaven's left the light on for you. Rest in peace
I was fortunate to have seen him live in Las Vegas about 5 years ago. He was the reason I drove up to see the show. His comedy helped get me through most of 2020 to now. **** cancer. RIP Norm.
I didn't know him but based on the hours I've spent with him just this past year, rewatching Norm Macdonald Live especially, he might as well be family. I'll keep watching and listening to him in years to come even though I've heard it all before, but his curiosity, interest in other people, and unapologetic way about being no one but himself will always stay fresh and inspiring. I'll fire up my Mangrate in his memory or what the heck you do with that thing.
If there was anyone I wish I could be more like, it's Norm Macdonald. You know, except the "dying of cancer at only 61" part. I never met him, but I loved him like a father.

‘That’s some kinda hog Hank’s got on him’…. ‘You can’t just bang a jukebox, go ‘aaaay’ and all your problems disappear’ RIP
What a loss. Norm was uniquely talented. Very VERY few comedians could get away with those long involved jokes that barely had a punch line but Norm somehow pulled them off, always with that knowing smirk, like "this is going to be worth it, trust me." So much of his material made me think "this doesn't seem funny but somehow I'm laughing my ass off." God speed, Norm. And thank you.
You missed the point. He's saying Norm won that distinction every single year for being the funniest.
Comedian and actor Norm Macdonald dead at 61 According to his brother Neil, he died from leukemia and it took a turn for the worse last month.
An original. I will miss his twisted sense of humor. One of the few comedians who actually made me laugh out loud. His Bob Dole stuff was pure gold.
Norm completed his work for the third season of 'The Orville' before he died. Seth MacFarlane had this to say: "To so many people in comedy, me included, there was nobody funnier than Norm Macdonald," MacFarlane wrote in a tweet on Tuesday. "You always hoped he would hang around after the work was done, just so you could hear his stories and get a laugh. So hilarious and so generous with his personality. I'm gonna miss him."
