Beatles - Get Back new book

Depending on what's exactly you hope to see in it.

This looks to be a substantial upgrade of the Get Back book originally included in the 1970 box set, with session transcriptions and a lot more pictures - a whole lot more. If you’ve seen the trailer. it pretty much shows what it is.

A “money grab”? How would this be a “money grab”? I mean, they certainly want your cash for this, they’re not giving it away for free. But if you’re concerned they’re trying to rip you off with a brand-new 260-page hardbound book with tons of Beatles photos, many previously unpublished - the gall - maybe wait til you can see it for yourself in a Barnes & Noble after it’s released next month.

I am still not sure which language I want to order. German or English.
Though the English version is definitely the original version....

Judging by the photos from Facebook, some have already received the book. It looks amazing.

Many, including me, received a letter from Amazon with a delay of a month.

 

Have there been any specific retailer incentives/promos for this?

 

I think that was rather grand. I'd take one home with me.

 

Same here. And I'm a Prime member. I bet if I cancelled and reordered at the current price, 5 euros higher than when I ordered, I'd have it on release day.

Amazon is delivering my book next Sunday

 

Costco will be carrying this book, at least in the USA and at least until initial stock runs out. The Oct. issue of the in-house magazine, Costco Connections, has an article including comments by the author. Looks like a nice companion piece to the box set. Which I wasn't planning on getting, but if I happen to see both at Costco I just might be tempted...

 

Target is offering an exclusive edition preorder for the same price as most other retailers ($42.00). Per the Target website:

“Each copy of this TARGET EXCLUSIVE edition contains 4 lobby cards, one of each member of the band, and will be enclosed in a sealed package adhered to the inside back cover. These lobby cards are reproductions of the original lobby cards used for the 1970 film, "Let It Be."”

 

By the standards of some on this forum, anything you have to part with cash for is a "money grab".

 

OK, I'll take the (soon to be rare) lobby cards exclusive edition.

To my surprise, there is a session on 16 January at Twickenham!
It seems to be revealed in the upcoming Get Back book.
16 January 1969 - Day 9,5 - London, Twickenham Film Studios

The session supposed to be the one Paul plays "Oh! Darling" solo with tape echo handled by Glyn Johns.
Previously the session was believed to be from 14 January.
Once it was thought to be from 15th, but it was "corrected" to 14th when the complete set of Nagra was circulated.

As others have already stated.

I've wanted a Let it Be movie poster for decades. They ran several hundred dollars, and the reprints from the early 80s were not cheap either. I never got my poster, and maybe I never will. I figure the lobby cards could satisfy my urge to own the poster? Or would it be a waste of time and money on another thing I don't really need? Usually, I justify these purchases by selling an LP or some item or another that I have. I guess I could buy the book with the cards, enjoy it for a few years and then sell them later, break-even, and enjoy owning them for a while. They are kinda cool, no?

 

It looks like a pre-order deal.

 

So, like a poster up on a standalone frame? If so I'm slapping my forehead.
