I read them say that Stay had been redone and works as a closer to the album like listen on SFTBC. Do we know if the version of Please Be Happy we have heard was thought of as finished at the time?
Curt said they remixed Stay but Paul thought they sounded the same. I remember I ran "Please Be Happy" through the DR meter and despite only being a sort of demo (as I understood it), it had a really low DR. I just don't get it.
Maybe it's from the Ready Boys and Girls RSD vinyl from a few years ago. Might be CD and wide retail release debut, though I think they streamed.
Being that I am in the U.S. I will look to get the Target editions. If the Target bonus have anything exclusive that is just in the context of North America. They do have a format exclusove with the blue vinyl and bonus 7".
I doubt that. Paul already announced that his SDE edition has all three of the bonus tracks that will otherwise be available separately ("Let It All Evolve" and "The Shame" on the US Target and the Japanese edition; "Secret Location" on the UK/European version).
My suspicion is that they are both correct. They probably did remix it for the album, but it still probably does not sound noticeably different at a glance. That is my guess.
Sounds like the vocal has not been redone which is a probably what most people would be looking out for
It’s going to be interesting to hear how the vocals are handled on this album. More like TTP in unison or will the lads take lead in certain songs. Stay is a Curt lead vocal and Please Be Happy is a Roland that we know.
It's unfortunate that the SDE CD was limited to only 2000 copies as this screws a lot of fans who want all the bonus tracks. The record company has to know that TFF sold millions of albums in their hey day and that there would be a big demand for their first album in 17 years. Now you have to buy two different versions to get all the songs . . . maybe they are not so dumb after all
I didn't even realize it was limited to 2000 copies. Being a huge fan I just jumped on it as I do with all my top favorite artists.
Well, I think it was a great concession to Paul at SDE given the work he has done to help promote TFF and put their box sets together. So as an exclusive, that is pretty good for their shop. But I suppose the record company wants to also keep the market up for the deluxe sets in other territories, like to give Target their "exclusives" in their domain, and to give the Japanese market something to make their edition more desirable than the regular.
Not sure if it’s already mentioned, but Apple Music shows the album and you can listen to the title track. Release date is displayed as February 25, 2022.
I think you mean pelicans, no? Edit: At Deezer I'm also seeing the track lengths. Only one relatively long track at six minutes.
And mine is "occasionally mentally blocked". It took me four hours to figure out the meaning of "prelisten" Oy vey.
I'll be interested to see what tour setlists look like as well. Hopefully plenty of new material inserted into stale “hits” running order they have trotted out for years.
That's also exciting news! Should get its own thread ... wondering if they'll release the full Wembley Arena, December 14, 1993 show at some point.
they might have sold millions early on, seeds of love did ok. but not much for the last 25 years. its been all downhill for them. so why would they issue a lot of cds. there is a demand among fans, but not much else anywhere. especially with streaming and downloads. later -1
