I bought this Abbey Road LP on ebay and it said "original pressing", but the pictures don't match anything I can find on Discogs.

The front cover says "Full Dimensional Stereo: Playable Also as Mono" labels say "Stereo and Mono". Based on this I figured it could be a bootleg.

Now what's strange is how amazing this sounds. I have a 90s Abbey Road that I thought sounded phenomenal, this is much better. The vinyl is very thick too, not flimsy.

Anyone know what this is? Is this a boot? I would return it but it was cheap and sounds really great.

Thanks! It's a bit beat up but I wanted to have an original pressing to go with my 90s repress. Sounds great! Definitely is full stereo.

A lot of albums put Stereo / Mono on them when they are Stereo only.

Maybe a holdover from earlier eras.

Some Israeli copies say Old Darling instead of Oh Darling.

Thank you, was not aware of this. Assumed it meant some songs were in mono and some in stereo.

Actually all Israeli Beatles pressings from 1960's and most from 1970's have UK matrix numbers. This "Abbey Road" has YEX 749-2/ YEX 750-1 in the deadwax - the very first UK cut, that's why it sounds so good.
AFAIK one of 1970's Israeli reissues of MMT (grey Portrait label) has German matrix numbers SHZE 327 A-1/SHZE 327 B-3.

They did that often, also often they pressed mono labels on stereo records and vice versa.

Does it list 'Her Majesty ' on side two?

As a matter of fact, it does.
And it has "Ending" instead of "The End".

    Fact.

Looks like it uses UK stampers based on the matrix (if it's the Israeli copy) No wonder it sounds so good :)
