I'm certainly not writing off his music of course, but he's not my kind of composer.

I received this 2-CD set yesterday and listened to Quartet No.1 this morning. Great playing, of course, and very good sound.

That’s the original issue of the set I found the other week on the Elatus label. I was really impressed by it!

An outstanding performance. For the life of me, I don't know why Chandos doesn't remaster the Gibson set of symphonies and release it? It seems they've been rather negligent of their back catalog, which, for this listener, contains their best recordings.

For the $6 that I paid it’s hard to beat—or at any price, really!

In this case it's the mystical 317X - I wonder what it does to a CD? :)

I'm with Glenn Gould in that I prefer "maximilism" over minimalism!

Grrrrrr! I bought this one recently as a FLAC download from Presto, but it has a corrupted track. Downloaded the album again, but yes, the same track has a problem. Notified Presto to tell them to stop selling it and to ask if I can get a refund or a credit or something. Shame, because I really liked it...
