Thanks you very much for your help ! Why i didn't bought a integrate ampli If i connect the other CD output to the NUO (2nd line input). Can i mix the SL with the CD player ? Could the PV1 subwoofer works with this configuration even i play CD trought the NEO and the sub stay connect only on the other C220 main output ?
Thank you. I left the ring at the "zero" position, the arm looks like it's parallel to the record: Now, the real, big problem: sound is badly distorted. I tried different tracking force values, double checked the cartridge / arm connection, even the anti skating was tried in different positions: no joy, horrible sound quality is all I'm getting. I tried the same albums (last ones by Steven Wilson, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Daft Punk) with my Rega Elys 2: no distortion at all, full, deep sound...I was trying to better my rig's sound quality, no luck so far. Any ideas? Again, thank you!
This is what I believed, so I tested it going from tracking force 1 to 2. The firm suggests the use of t.f. 1.8. Thanks!
Absolutely not a dumb question. Yes I did it, but maybe I got it wrong, and it's the only thing I didn't double check, now that I think about it. I will do it again after work, and report. Thank you.
Integrated won't make things easier. The suggested linkage is fine and it will do what you need. Just press tape monitor when using the mixer. In this scenario, the volume pot on the C220 affects the sound, so you'll need to regulate the levels adequately. Don't push the Nuo in red, increase the volume on the C220.
@ranch 22b that was it...I did a big mistake: these days I often get home from work late and quite tired, but I wanted to play with the new toy ASAP...I started having problems from the very start, coupling the cartridge with the arm...then something went wrong again when rotating the arm weight and/or setting the tracking force...I didn't double check it! Thanks to you, today I started again from point 1 of the manual, getting a new balancing, and now I'm getting a nice sound and no distorsion Lesson learned: do things when not too tired or stressed! I really wish to thank you and all the friends who gave me ideas and suggestions
No dumb questions 9/10 times it's always something simple It needs pointed out because if we made the mistake we likely can't see it.
Takes all of 3 seconds to calibrate a digital scale with the included calibration weight. Even the cheap ones I've used are deadly accurate.
Fair point, however, the average digital scales from any random shop is surprisingly accurate nowadays. I once checked a few using some calibration weights (class M1).
You're welcome. I'm glad it turned out to be an easy fix. I can't begin to tell you how many times I've been bailed out with advice from here and over at AudioKarma
Thanks a lot for your advices ! I still have to buy 2 more CARDAS rca I tested with one Cardas i had and 2 other simple rca
Just mounted my new AT-OC9XML to my Technics SL-1210GR via AT-LH11H Headshell. The resonance peak at 6.5 Hz was expected. So far I’ve only had the opportunity to play Classic Hauser which sounds extra crispy when played from my AT-VM540ML. The OC9XML seems to be more akin to my Shure V15 type III/JICO SAS-B: nuanced details. broad sound stage, black as coal backgrounds, and a not so crispy pleasing tone using stock Technics cables to Parasound P6 phono stage.
