    Do subwoofers attract Elephants?

One would certainly be the elephant in my listening room.

Wouldn’t want one doing the “Elephant Stomp” in my listening room.

SVS SB16 Ultra can stomp and also be very subtle.

Nice but be careful. I was more worried about a
    “Blat” then “Splat” scenario

I have recently learned there is a surprising amount of sub bass in popular music. Classical? Yes. Even some jazz has its moments. The SVSs are well integrated as we speak and I am enjoying thier contribution. I'm not experiencing an over boosted condition. Someone recommended buying two. No thank you, I enjoy having my internal organs inside my body.

That's not a rotary subwoofer. That's a Servodrive, which uses a motor and belts to drive two woofer cones. Servodrive Bass Tech 7

This will also get the job done:

(note, these Tymphany LATs need a much bigger enclosure than that guy built)

Oh no. That’s the last thing I need showing up at my door. Good thing I’m not that close to the lake.

Oh! You are correct! The rotary was later-I remember seeing the first prototype and thinking "what the heck?!?!?" Tom is a nutty guy. The one that got away was a large tall panel, hinged along one tall side and with a vertical magnet row next to the other edge, which had a longitudinal voice coil. 80-20k Hz, sounded great. I presume it was too hard to produce or something :(

I would never own a subwoofer that wouldn't fit in my trunk.

A couple years ago I sold a massive 18'' home sub to a younger fellow that had brought along his girlfriend for the journey here. The sub would not fit in the back of his car so we squeezed in the front passenger seat. To my amazement his hot looking girlfriend had no problem sitting in the back seat for their long journey home on that freezing cold night.
Yep there sure was a "pachyderm" leaving my house and hogging up the front seat of a buyer's car that sub zero night.
