Stream first, I love Tony but this one is from the 80s, and from streaming, it sounds VERY 80s. But seems like a good deal if that's your thing.

 

Second that. This is an awesome price for what is probably a great pressing considering all the other BN80s. But I can't stand that 80s drum machine sound

Anyway, I posted to say that if you guys indeed like it after you stream it, go for it because it will sound great for sure.

 

Yeah exactly, you're kind of anticipating MJ's falsetto kicking in a few times there. And that cover too....

 

Ahahahah true! But hey, I'm a huge MJ fan, I just can't stand the sound on a jazz album. I mean, it's just too much of that. And I absolutely love Tony Williams.

Don't get me started on the cover... the 80s were... very peculiar

It's a fold down (there never was a dedicated mono mix of Forever Changes) but I've been told by a few people that it's very good. Its a Rocktober Rhino release by Bernie Grundman. My understanding is that it is AAA.

Just ordered a copy myself yesterday - looks like a good deal to me!

 

I love this version, very punchy with the guitars upfront. Perfect pressing, sounds great. Not better than the stereo, just a different (but equally enjoyable) experience.

Have to say though, it's been lower on Amazon - I bought it last year for £15.58!
