Any expectations for S4 to hold your interest? Can it be as good as the old ones?

The little 5 minute behind-the-scenes trailer they aired looks pretty good.

Do they air all episodes at once or roll them out weekly? Just got the app a few weeks ago and have binged all 3 seasons so far.

  8. Not the show to watch for realism, or understatement. Welcome to modern television, 2021CE. Everything is painted in very broad strokes. I found myself liking it anyway, despite the constant resort to gimmicks that I long ago found to be a turnoff, like cartoonish (yet horrific, yet still cartoonish) levels of bare-handed ultraviolence, forcible rape, mayhem, arson, and gun battles. Yellowstone even includes several episodes of small-unit combat featuring military-grade weaponry set for wide-open automatic fire at close range. Who knew that being a livestock police officer was so perilous? And notwithstanding the presence of multiple innocent bystanders in at least one of these shootouts (and a score of bodies that apparently disappear into unmarked graves), somehow we're expected to think that none of the incidents ever even end up on the pages of the Missoula Gazette, much less the Washington Post. Even the level of vandalism and property destruction is over the top- somehow both random and routine. So considerable suspension of disbelief is required. Somehow, I manage to suspend it. I think some of that has to do with the strength of the cast, all of whom who fill out the assigned roles- actually more like archetypes- of their improbable characters very well. Most of the roles are written to strain credulity, yet the actors carry them off. It would be so easy to lose the plot and play them as parodies, but somehow they all, uh, rein themselves in. Extra credit to Kelly Reilly, who walks and talks her all too wordly Montana cowgirl character flawlessly, never once betraying that fact that she's actually, uh, English.

Watched first 2 episodes if Season 4 last night.

Some holes, so far, but still excellent, IMHO.

    Kelly is on fire !

With Paramount's marathon this weekend,I thought my wife might want to finally catch up with this as she loves Kevin Costner. I'm not a prude(love Slap Shot I),but if f-bombs were pennies,we would be millionaires. We caption, and rest assured every bomb was spelled correctly. Did I not hear too many s***s,m-effers, c***suckers, or blasphemies. God curses out west,no matter what era, would be expected, but no:"JC!,mother effincsuckin' pea pickers"(imagining Tennessee Ernie Ford as narrator).

Don't have Paramount, so had to wait until available to view on Amazon Prime. I was hoping to watch last night - guess it will be tonight for me.

Weird, Yellowstone is not showing up on the Paramount+ streaming app.

  15. Whenever Beth (Kelly) meets with her enemies, at any given moment I expect her to pause from whatever she might happen to be drinking to take big bites out of her glass.

I liked it, but some early scenes seemed rushed, the hospital etc.

  17. Was looking forward to this and was not disappointed.

Yeah, it’s another Show that does not hold up to careful analysis, but still enjoyable.

  21. Another example of the suspension of disbelief required from viewers. Getting the old man back on his feet quickly is required in order to keep the show moving fast. And I do expect it to keep moving fast.

I went thru the same process of downloading Paramount+ thinking that I'd access the show. Only to find that wasn't the case, I guess it was too logical to have the show where you'd think it oughtta be! Too make matters worse, all this talk of the 1st month being free, well my account shows the 10 bucks has been deducted, I wonder how many others also went for this bait & switch! Well, I canceled them, went to Amazon Prime and purchased the season for $20 bucks, easy-peesy!

Do we know exactly how much time has transpired since the big shootout & where we pick things up? Beth's back burns are pretty well-healed (albeit quite scarred, obviously), which I think would take some time to get to that level. Casey's gunshot wound scars seem a little more fresh. Construction for the new casino has barely broken ground though.
