Definitely hard to do. Still have more shopping to do for others! Can’t justify getting more for myself
I was going to pick up Cardi B's Invasion of Privacy and on CD - that's been in-stock forever for good reason, and I was surprised that sold out.
If they had the Beach Boys deluxe edition Feel Flow, that along with the Bob Dylan Springtime in New York and Elton John Jewel box would make a merry trio in my cart.
I do see you can get preorders in this deal. The Jack White record (targets variant, as well) is in the deal.
Spent too much, as I am wont to do. Had been sitting on a pile of records in my Target cart anticipating a sale- any sale- for months and months. Picked up the remaining Neil Young archive releases that I needed and nabbed three Dead boxsets and the Ornette Coleman Atlantic Years set.
Probably won't buy all these but you might consider Paul Kelly Christmas 2LP 2021 Neil Young - Barn Weather Station - Ignorance with bonus live LP Church - Starfish with bonus songs Nils Frahm - new album Steven Wilson of Porcupine Tree - Last Days Of June on blue Piano Magic - new LP, wasn't expecting it Midlake - new LP, wasn't expecting it Efterklang's new one Tears For Fears new one on colored Marillion's new one Aimee Mann's new one Errol Garner - Symphony Hall 2LP live Ben Watt's new one Jonny Greenwood's Spencer Soundtrack Black Marble's Fast Idol on colored Elbow's new one Dean & Britta's new one Dean Wareham's new one Connell's comeback album Scorpions new 2LP
It's a little annoying how Target seems to show the distributor as the "Record Label". For the Church, it shows "URP Music Distributors" - I presume this is the Intervention Records version?
Round 3 Fly Eagles Fly... Eagles MFSL SACD Eagles Desperado MFSL SACD Eagles Millenium Concert LP $62
I had fallen behind on a few Tone Poet and Verve Acoustic Sounds releases and picked them up. Great deal. Also picked up a couple of the Blue Note Classic Series releases because they were just too cheap to skip at basically $15 each with discount.
Damn. Round 4. Aimee Mann Queens of the Summer Hotel LP Emmylou Harris Wrecking Ball LP Alison Krauss and Robert Plant Raise the Roof Target exclusive LP $56
I bought the New Age Steppers 5CD box, Mamas and Papas Singles (Real Gone) and the LAMF Found Masters, as they were all around the same price ($25ish).
Bummer that Starfish is only there in its vinyl version (for me, at least), that would be an instabuy otherwise.
I just ordered the Concert for George 4LP, Layla 4LP and Zeppelin's How The West Was Won. Normally I can't bring myself to pay for these kind of box sets but I figure this is a once per year chance to really save some money on these things. I was hoping to get the purple Hendrix set but I deliberated too long on the others and the Hendrix sold out. I have the worst luck with Hendrix stuff, I was about to buy the mono Axis: Bold As Love from Target a couple months ago and the same thing happened, went to add it to my cart and it had just sold out. Those Hendrix releases are all such a great value anyway, even without this sale. I also picked up Hendrix at Woodstock today, with the sale that one basically works out to $18 for 3 LPs
Other Target vinyl titles that caught my eye: Jeff Tweedy's upcoming soundtrack to 'Chelsea Walls' Prog band PFM's new 2LP set Tony Bennett & Lady GaGa's latest Jethro Tull's pre-order Manchester Orchestra's new Christmas album Bahamas - Live To Tape pre-order Bastille - Give Me The Future pre-order Bryce & Aaron Dessner ' Cyrano' 2LP on white pre-order Herbie Nichols - The Prophetic Herbie Nichols pre-order - Kevin Gray project Band - Cahoots reissue plus deluxe box Gene Clark - Collected numbered / limited / expensive Flag Day soundtrack with Eddie Vedder, Cat Power and Glen Hansard Elvis Costello & Imposters - Boy Named If pre-order Colin Blunstone - 50th Anniversary reissue Jerry Garcia Band reissue 5LP set Travis - Invisible Band reissue box set Brian Wilson - At My Piano Joe Bonamassa - Time Clocks on colored Joe Bonamassa - Royal Tea Live From The Ryman 'Winter Tales' pretty modern classical from Roger & Brian Eno and others, new songs
This one looks as if it will be right in my wheelhouse. I wouldn't have known about it if it wasn't for your post...thanks! Other holiday music... Trans Siberian Orchestra - Christmas Eve and Other Stories (Available for store pick-up. Red vinyl Target exclusive, utterly gorgeous pressing.) Steve Perry - The Season (Also available for store pick-up. Really should be marketed as an EP as I'd be surprised if it clocks in at 27 minutes...still a very pleasing listen.) Kim Wilde - Wilde Winter Songbook (This apparently has been out there since 2013 but I just tripped over it this year. Hasn't arrived yet but I'm looking forward to hearing it.) And an amazing three-pack...all 3 out the door for under $80 with the additional Red Card discount. Pretenters I & II (new 3 CD sets) plus... The Jazz Butcher - Dr Cholmondley Repents: A Sides B Sides
Buy 3. Immediately cancel 2. You still get the sale price so it should be around 660 instead. I believe you’ll briefly have a big CC hold on your card though
Yep. The 40% BF preview coupon from udiscover sent out recently worked as well making it a bit cheaper than the Target sale. But still too costly.
Note - for those in store, you can buy 3 and return 2 and still retain the price. It takes the discount across the 3 and I had no trouble returning 2/3.
This didn’t work for me on Babylon By Bus. Ordered on the app x3. Immediately cancelled two. Still showed one for full price. What am I doing wrong?
