What old TV shows have you been watching lately?

Discussion in 'Visual Arts' started by James Slattery, Jul 2, 2020.

  1. I was going to mention The Invaders. I am also watching The Man From U.N.C.L.E, nostalgia is the reason for both. It will likely be years before I finish either because I have a lot to watch right now.

Shows like Man from U.N.C.L.E. were ok, but they soon became like shows/movies on zombies, vampires, werewolves, ghouls, etc. ........seem em once, you've seen them all.

I've been binge watching my complete series DVD set and had forgotten how many little hardboiled noir-like mysteries this show contained.

Welcome back Kotter.....love the theme song too. I used to run in front of the TV set when the intro song came thru ; with a "baby" Travolta in it too :)

Six Million Dollar Man, Season 5 "Sharks" episode which features 2 future Star Trek guest starts. John DeLancie (Q) and Marc Alaimo (Gul Dukat). So far it really doesn't have anything to do with sharks (other than them swimming by randomly). I take it they were playing on the Jaws craze (2 years too late).

Well I watched more... It's a two part episode and I paused it half way thru. Near the end Austin starts "fighting" a shark. Then it says "to be continued" so I'll catch up with it tomorrow.

I had to laugh at the episode in which a cop shoots a guy in the back instead of chasing him. Yeah, he was an alien, but he looked human! They shouldn't do that!

The aliens in the Invaders do look human, but if you shoot them dead, they liquify in front of your eyes :)

This was the aliens' strong point, ,this is how they eluded being caught in the act !

I was hoping for an episode that had someone gun down an alien and they wait for it to vaporize. Uh oh! :sigh:

The 60s Batman tv series blu-ray was an extremely rewarding impulse purchase, I'm finding..

Really? There are episodes of the Invaders where they shot humans thinking they were aliens?

I didn't realize you meant this....ehm, no, I don't think so, but let's remember that only Vincent knew of the existence of the Invaders on Earth and he was trying to convince other humans of their existence.

Maybe I need to watch this series again because I remember an episode in which an alien was shot in the back by a cop in a public place. Maybe the cop was an alien too or something?

If the body liquified and the cop saw it, well, yes....frankly I don't remember this episode, but yeah, I guess the aliens would kill any other alien who could give away their existence on Earth and no trace would ever be found.
