It was hard to watch those shots of George just prior to his exit. He looked so detached and isolated. Clearly something went off inside him at that moment and he just felt he had to go.
Loved Pt 1 Finally a Beatles release designed for the freaks and weirdos of the Hoffman Forum ! Casual fans will probably find almost 8 hours of Beatles video a borefest but f—k em it’s our turn to bask in the excess !
The main thing I realized about Paul, bless him, is that he's basically a border collie with only other dogs to herd.
Was wondering exactly the same thing. It sounded to me like the best bit of almost fully realised music from the whole episode (apart from John playing the Harry Lime Theme lol). The Get Back session experts here will know...
So glad to hear they included that, but bummed that I guess there was no footage to go with it. I have never been 100% sure which of John or George play the "bass" like guitar and which the "lead". My best guess is it is John on "bass" but was hoping for visual confirmation. Always struck me as something between Fire On The Mountain and Dark Star - but played by folks without that much improvisational facility. One of my fav parts of the Twickenham sessions. It is actually almost 3x as long as that YouTube clip.

WOW how cool is the performance of She Came In Through The Bathroom Window at 1:58.22 ?! A spirited, complete performance of audio/ matching film - & John inventing hilarious answering phrases to Paul`s lyrics A highlight of Part 1 for me - should`ve been in Let It Be. Ah well glad we have it now!
The Third Man Theme was one of the instrumentals The Beatles played when they backed Janice the stripper at the Jacaranda in 1960.
That is fascinating info. Nice guitar arrangement JL came up with then. He still retained it nearly 10 years later.
Thanks. See, this is why I don't need to remember or look up stuff, the Hoffman one-stop compendium of all things Fab. That also explains the smirks.
But that's not a highlights version. It just contains footage from Jan 27 (I believe) and 30. It was put together for private screening only purposes.
My thoughts exactly! “Get Back” is everything I was expecting it to be — and if you’ve listened to the various “30 Days”-type bootlegs a hundred times like I have — boredom, tedium, and confusion are as much a part of the project and the reality as the great music! So far, this new sprawling edit seems very “real” to me.
Finished right now part 1, great movie, PJ did a great job in this project, excited for the next 2 episodes.
I agree. And I still want a soundtrack as well. I feel in a lot of cases the songs deserve it. Plus I just love getting new Beatles albums. That said, I've got decent listenable versions of a lot of the songs, so I'm physically not missing much. The exception to that is the concert, but that will be taken care of soon enough
Sorry if this has already been answered, but I can't get any clarity on Google: are these releases exclusive to the date? Meaning, they just show each episode on its release date, and then it's over after Saturday?
I posted this in the other thread, but it should have been in this one... Just finished Part 1. $!*+<^g great!!!!!! Looked great, sounded great, no BS talking heads and geared to fans with everything we could possibly ask for.
