    I loved every minute!

Amazing to see lots of footage matching up to stuff we've had on bootleg since the early 80s.

I loved the full length Bathroom Window and the I'm So Tired montage of everyone yawning ending with Paul having to wake John up who's slumped on his Lowry keyboard! Hilarious!

The last shot of John, Paul & Ringo having a hug brought a tear to my eye!

George getting shut out so subtly but so clearly hurts to watch.

I like the Yoko jams, and I'm happy to see them placed in context.

Did anybody find Jacksons faux "HD" a bit disorientating in that things you would normally see clearly if it was proper HD were just not there?
Not that I am complaining, its the best it's ever going to get.
However its a big step up from my Laser Disc version of the original movie.

And Paul's desperate defense in response. In that context, it makes me wonder if the line "get back to where you once belonged" is subtly (maybe even unconsciously) directed at George.

This is such a fascinating thing, even only the first part. We're going to have stuff to talk about for ages to come!

Yes, I wonder if at that moment The Beatles were flashing back to visiting hospitals in their mop top days, with parents bringing their terminally ill children to touch the group members and “get healed.” You can actually see John’s skin crawl as MLH makes the suggestion.

Or just blithely suggesting they play at an orphanage! To John Lennon! jfc

The microexpressions that crossed John's face during that convo were fascinating.

    Hey Mo! And Neil!

The mania trying to bandage over the wound is so noticeable.

MLH discussing Orson Welles as he is wont to do.

I think Yoko looks groovy in leather.

"Isn't It A Pity" and the hug move me to tears.

The meeting does not go well. So much said with so little.

    I adore this.

Staying up til 3 again because I need Part Two ASAP.

Interesting to read updated copyright credits -

"Everybody Got Song" now "Everybody Got Soul".

"You Wear Your Women Out" and "My Imagination" now official along with "Castle".

"Commonwealth" and "Enoch Powell" registered as separate compositions.

Some co-owned by MPL and ATV, some not.

    "John" by Yoko Ono.

This little interaction tickled me (paraphrased):

Ringo: Hi Georgie! Want to hear about what half of a percent you own?
    George: Not really.

Given the conversation happening between Dick James and Paul beforehand, I wonder what Ringo was thinking.

I have not been able to watch the first part, due to work and holiday dinner, but will soon as I get home.
But I suspect John’s quote from the Rolling Stone interview that Paul was looking at Yoko every time he sang “Get Back to where you once belong” will be disproven many times over.

Just so good! Wonderful! The review in The Guardian must have been authored by a Beatles novice.

All true….I’ve wondered though have no at all proof if maybe paul wasn’t doing some cocaine in this time and manifested tell tale nasal type singing, have read this along …which would definitely clash with John’s sedated and probably heroin demeanor and George’s stoner weed demeanor. Of course ringo admits to heavy drinking throughout this time.

Another thought: There should have been subtitles during all of the dialogue.

Whatever Paul was using over time, it seemed to have a very big effect on his memory for chronology. IIRC, according to a book of interviews with Paul that I read, he was trying to remember if John was still alive during the Wings Over America tour.
