I'm opening three simultaneous polls in order to choose those songs that are likely to be in each personal Top 20 Beatles songs list. The pre-selection of songs corresponds to the resulting tracklist from a previous poll series for the creation of a Beatles compilation. The objective is to obtain a list including the 20 most voted songs from the three polls. The polls will be open for 1 week. NOTE: You don't need to choose a total amount of 20 songs from the polls, since some of your actual Top 20 Beatles songs may not be present in the lists. The other two polls: POLL: Top 20 Beatles songs (1/3) POLL: Top 20 Beatles songs (3/3)
Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown) Paperback Writer Eleonor Rigby Tomorrow Never Knows Strawberry Fields Forever Penny Lane A Day In The Life Hello, Goodbye I Am The Walrus
Quite a few, amongst which is Drive my Car and Rain.. The hard question was always: which is better, She Said or Rain ??
This list does a better job of capturing my favorites than the previous list of 20. I would have added "For No One"
We Can Work It Out Day Tripper Drive My Car Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown) Nowhere Man In My Life Paperback Writer Rain Taxman Eleanor Rigby I'm Only Sleeping Here, There And Everywhere She Said She Said And Your Bird Can Sing Tomorrow Never Knows Strawberry Fields Forever Penny Lane Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band With A Little Help From My Friends Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds A Day In The Life All You Need Is Love Hello, Goodbye I Am The Walrus
We Can Work It Out Rain Here, There and Everywhere And Your Bird Can Sing Strawberry Field Forever With a Little Help From My Friends Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds
Paperback Writer, I'm Only Sleeping, Strawberry Fields Forever, Penny Lane and A Day In The Life are all in my top 20. Of the rest, She Said She Said, And Your Bird Can Sing, Here There And Everywhere and Hello Goodbye are all between 21 and 30 in my line up.
that's the best I could do...sorry, dude..at least you got a good laugh out of it while tying to make me look bad...; )
paperback writer rain i'm only sleeping she said she said tomorrow never knows strawberry fields forever i am the walrus a day in the life used to be top 5 for me but it's probably in the 20-30 range nowadays.
voté : (dans aucun ordre particulier) Day Tripper Paperback Writer Rain Eleanor Rigby Penny Lane remplir le quota : Fool on the Hill It's all too Much Happiness is a Warm Gun Hey Jude Blackbird Everybody's got Something to Hide Except me and my Monkey Lady Madonna Because Come Together You Can't do That Help! And I Love Her No Reply I Should Have Known Better Got to get you Into my Life * edit : Fifteen of my personal top-2O happened to be choices from among the three polls. Five non-poll tracks appear above in red print.
We Can Work It Out Norwegian Wood Nowhere Man Paperback Writer Rain Eleanor Rigby I'm Only Sleeping Strawberry Fields Forever Penny Lane With a Little Help from My Friends A Day in the Life Hello Goodbye I Am the Walrus That's 13 more, on top of the seven I voted for in the first poll. That doesn't leave much room for the third poll, does it? Edit: added Norwegian Wood and A Day in the Life on double-checking. Already up to 20. That doesn't leave ANY room
This is probably my peak period for the Beatles, and so very difficult Day Tripper In My Life Paperback Writer Rain She said She said Eleanor Rigby And Your Bird Can Sing Tomorrow Never Knows Strawberry Fields A day in the life All you need is love I am the walrus Personally for me Fixing A Hole would need to be included, but I understand why it isn't
Also non poll tracks I list highly.... I thought i was the only one, especially with regard to the latter, one that seems almost universally dismissed.
"Tomorrow Never Knows", "Strawberry Fields Forever", "Penny Lane", "A Day In The Life" and "I Am The Walrus" are the most voted songs in this poll and they'll surely enter into the final Top 20 list.
For me, these are a notch above the others: We Can Work It Out Norwegian Wood Nowhere Man In My Life Paperback Writer Rain Penny Lane Hello, Goodbye I prefer the era covered by the third poll, but this one has some great songs as well. I used to rate the Sgt. Pepper's album much more highly than I do these days, for me it just doesn't hold up as well to repeated listening as Rubber Soul, Revolver, The White Album and Abbey Road.
